Approximate costs on M&G braking/baseplate installation?

Has anyone had an M&G system installed in the last year-ish and also had a baseplate installed by them?  Rough costs?  We're considering a new toad and the M&G this time (current CR-V has a US Gear Unified tow brake).

(ETA we would purchase the baseplate separately)

We went to the M&G shop in Athens, TX for our install - Brake system only.  As I recall it was $1200.00+/-.  Included emergency brake cylinder and lights for our Wrangler.  Son Jacob installed our base plates.  Don't remember what they would have charged - maybe $400.00.  Parked next to the shop for the evening before the install and had power.  Not sure about water.  Install was about 3 hours total.

We like the M&G much better than the Invisibrake system.

I like the idea of the M&G unit, problem in my case, would not fit without cutting up the inner left front fender to make it fit.
The day will come when I will move this pickup for a newer, nicer unit, do not want to have to have major body work to repair when remove the M&G unit.
Surely it fits some vehicles fine, just not a 2004 F150 Pickup.

Not sure how that is relevant to the cost question, and fit isn't an issue in this case.

In 2012 we had M&G install their brake system and breakaway option.  They also installed the base plates on our jeep.  Their charge was $1500.00.  (that total does not include the cost of the actual Roadmaster baseplates which we had shipped to them ahead of our appointment for installation.). We too are very pleased with their system.

Oct. 2014 had the M&G including Brake-Away system installed in Fort Lauderdale, Fl for $1250.00 on our 2012 Jeep.  Price checked with M&G and they quoted $1100.00.

Not sure about base plate cost.  I replaced the D-Ring brackets on the after market bumper with Blue Ox brackets which take the place of a base plate.  When not towing the D-Rings thru bolt onto the the Blue Ox brackets.

After towing over 3000 miles I am extremely satisfied with the braking and easy hook up.

I think what Dave was saying is that M&G says it will fit but you have to cut metal.  They said it would fit my Grand Cherokee too but I had to cut.  I had MOT put on my AF1 but the time taken was to take off the front facia on the jeep.  That was the hours while the rest of it was simple and straight foward.  I would say it differs by car as there was no issue with the wrangler next to me having it done. Mine was a full day but his was three hours max.

Michelle:  I had MOT install my baseplate on the HHR.  They welded it on.  Never to come off.  Moved over to the Terrain and had M&G in Athens install and they bolted it on.  Now can be removed.  I like M&G install as they allow you to watch it being done.
As to price don't remember but was fair compared to other shops.  DAN

I should have addwd to my 1st comment about the actual devalueation of your toad AFTER you are done with it and want to sell it with the chopped up fender well that had to be chopped up in order to install the M&G brake unit.
Surely there are some vehicles this is not the case, however some are affected by the need for modifing the sheet metal in order to install the brake unit on the master cylinder. 
Between the need to either repair the damaged area or lowering the value due to the damage should be figured into the "Approximate costs on M&G"
I like the unit, would have it on my F150, but it would not fit, so went with the AF1 unit.
Just sayin & Do the happy thing.

I had the braking system installed in October. I think it was about $1250. Already had the Blue Ox tow hardware on the CR-V. I like the M & G system.

I had the full M & G system installed by you a few years back. It has given very good service. 2002 Mazda, B3000.

I recently had to salvage the vehicle ( I removed the M & G  main components )

I then purchased a replacement vehicle that has a full M & G system installed by you in Athens.  ( prior owner, Dave Cobb , was sent to you by me )  2004 Avalanche

My question.

1. Can I change the owners name on the paper work to the new owner (me)

2. What do I do with the (still servable) parts off my prior vehicle


The lifetime warranty is transferrable, on the M&G cylinder only. So no paperwork is necessary.
Keep the old part for exchange if you change vehicles in the future.

I got a quote of $1800 from M&G in November for the braking system, break away and Blue Ox base plate for a 2012 Yukon.
