Re: Dash camera Reply #1 – January 28, 2015, 07:28:20 pm Yes, a "Hero 4" and it was really a quality video feed but I could not keep batteries charged sufficiently. The nice thing about it is the fact that you can use it for so many other things that you would use an all around good quality camera for. Starts out at $4-500 depending on which unit you prefer and then with accessories ends up around $700 or so. The nicest feature... All operable from the iPhone which I keep on the dash, as I use the iPhone for mapping my routes, as an altimeter and GPS speedometer. (And of course phone calls and text message communications as well.) ...and no, I do not converse while driving. Where would we be without these electronic gadgets !? Quote Selected
Re: Dash camera Reply #2 – January 28, 2015, 07:45:26 pm See prior threadDash CameraThe Vacron camera I mentioned has been updated. It now has lane departure alarms. We really like ours, turn it on especially when coming into someplace interesting and then save or sent snips, let folks see what wee see from the traveling lining room.Roger Quote Selected 1 Likes

Re: Dash camera Reply #4 – January 29, 2015, 08:05:32 am Roger helped me understand the Vacron dash camera. I do the same. Turn on for interesting views or going thru large metro areas. This is a great camera but takes some understanding of the program. It takes power from your cit lighter. DAN Quote Selected

Re: Dash camera Reply #6 – January 29, 2015, 03:02:39 pm Dave, I don't see any reference to GPS in your Black Box G1w drive cam, which would be needed to record location and show recorded MPH. Quote Selected
Re: Dash camera Reply #7 – January 29, 2015, 11:11:47 pm Nope, no GPS. I'm more concerned about the folks that cut in front for off ramps and such, GPS, speed and location are superfluous for my concern. JMOO Quote Selected
