Decal Ghost

I am removing the old motorcade numbers and of course under them the fiberglass is still shiny, Being the fiberglass is 24 yrs old around what do you recommend to help blend in the ghost images. I really don't understand why the ''Motorcade Club'' won't let the old numbers convert over to a new owner of a coach, But anyway,  Now I am looking at all the other old fading peeling decals and thinking , Naw I just need to quit thinking, it creates too much work...

I think the only real solution is to renew the gelcoat surface with a orbital buffing machine and cutting compound.  But BEWARE!...once you start down that road, you can't quit until the whole coach is done.  I have, so far, resisted the temptation...

Thats what I am afraid of! I am not ready to ride my buffers right now.

could you do a new MC number on white vinyl background? Or have custom vinyl design made to go across the top of the coach in front that includes coverage over the space where old number is?

Even at Xtreme - level one is a repaint of the old decals in their exact location due to this issue - level two is about a 1/2 FBP in a new design where the design covers all of the old graphics locations.

I suspect that the club number is held so that member numbers don't change - after all, FT wants you to stay MC members, AND they want you to trade up every year!

There is a simple solution--- wet sand the area with 1200 grit wet or dry sand paper, then lightly buff, even by hand, to match the luster of the surrounding fiberglass.
