RV Nation - IH-45

For those who may watch the Great American Country network, they have a program called RV Nation. Tonight they just ran a 30 minute episode on how Foretravel builds a custom IH-45.  Very impressive.  The following episode is about building a Newell coach.  Interesting to watch them back-to-back and note the differences in methods.  Both do custom chassis, and custom design/build.

Thanks for the heads up, I was getting tired of watching the basketball game (tennessee and Vanderbilt). Missed the ft show but the next one is kind of interesting.

Watched the next show about building the prevost. Made me feel substandard. Went back to watching the ballgame. I guess pore folks just got pore ways. Maybe I'll win at the horse races tomorrow and better ourselves.

Don't feel substandard with a Foretravel.  While we don't have the latest, greatest, high tech gizmos, our Foretravel coaches are built with great engineering- designed to last 1000000 miles as a motorhome.  Prevost conversions are converted from shells designed to be buses, not motorhomes.

Good part about being among the poor folks- don't have to worry about either making a payment or having Repo man show up.

Travel safe and cya down the road.

Just foolin about. We are very proud and satisfied with what we have. Can't see a lot of need for all the gadgetry and gizmos.

Bus...too heavy, too big, won't fit, too expensive to keep running.

It was fun to watch the great new and expensive RVs built.  However, I feel very fortunate to travel about in the luxury afforded by our FT.  I don't require more.  That said, a Power Ball ticket could change my perspective.

Hi,
Since I have had a top-of-the-line SOB, I choose a Foretravel! Mostly due to my 88, a 25 yr old coach!

Powerball would allow me to make ALL my upgrades instead of doing the $$ math.. lol

We DVRd the shows and watched them last night.  If you've seen the series "Extreme RV" then you've already seen some of these episodes, including the IH one (you can tell which were made for that series because they will frequently start a line with "what makes xyz an Extreme RV is blah blah blah").  7 episodes in all (including the Simon Cowell trailer and that extra-long semi-tractor-front end thing).

We hadn't seen the Newell, King Air, or Featherlight ones before so those were very interesting.

They air a couple of episodes each Wednesday evening so if you miss it one week it will be rebroadcast again in the next week or so.  RV Nation : Motor Homes : Great American Country

Great  coach, however,  I am not enthused about the laminate cabinets. Much perfer the walnut/cherry cabinets in my '02 U320.

I tried that one, but is was not the Foretravel episode. Did you mistype?
Kevin (and Old Hippie),

Sorry, *I* must have been the one that mistyped!  :-[

Just tried it again, and Extreme RVs, Season 2, Episode 2, is the episode that featured Foretravel.

Thanks for the information,

Notice the major differences in manufacturing processes at Foretravel vs Fleetwood, especially things like tooling, jigs, and guys wearing (and not wearing) safety glasses?

I don't work at FT and don't know the books, but I just don't see how they can survive long term doing a couple super high end a year. I know the Realm is supposed to change things. But back in the 90's they were producing a lot more RV's each year.

For me it's just camping that doesn't need over complicating..... I do require quality... I don't require a lot of mirrors and glitz.. at my age and looks I shy away from mirrors... every body has different wants and needs... this is JUST ME.
