Ladders instead of Foremen (bent Zip Dee awning tube)

We had the pleasure to go fishing last week. Thank full the skies were overcast. However the skies let loose back at the campground and the Zip Dee became the zip tub. Yes, the awning tube was bent. Very bent. Pulled in toward the coach.

I looked up bent awnings in the web and sure enough Barry Beam's notes with drawings popped up. Needless to say the instruction delivered positive results. Good luck in finding the two foremen supporting the tube with their shoulders. The effort to bend the tube could break a collar bone or two. I borrowed 2 ladders to support the ends which worked very well.

A note to those that may try this; mark the roller when fully extended (where one may see it at the end) to indicate the high part of the bend. When rolling up and getting into position to bend, it is very difficult to locate the high part of the bend as it begins to straighten out, and the awning cloth obscures the true bend.

Kent Spears helped me straighten my bent Zip Dee tube using just that procedure while in Quartzite for the no rules gathering.
