A little remodel.

Well thought I would share a couple of pictures of our remodel. I pulled all the carpet out and we decided to put in Armstrong Loose Lay tile in the living room kitchen and bath. I also wanted different carpet in the drivers area. We got the idea of the loose lay from Jor and decided move forward. While I was add it I called Foretravel and had them send me some Wood Doctor for the cabinets, Wow what a difference that made.

We saw Andy's coach at Q in Jan. Nice paint job and nice coach. I love seeing these Grand Villas restored.

Looks awesome! Can't wait to see the more pictures as the project progresses... The effect of Wood Dr. on the cabinetry is indeed amazing. We should probably grab a bunch of extra cans while we're at FOT so we can distribute it to other folks we meet on the road. :-)

Looks nice so far!! I second what Ken said ! Till I took out my carpet I didn't know Foretravel owned stock in the local staple supply store

Well got the carpet installed just have to finish the seat installation and wire the seats. Waiting for the tile to get here to button it up. Will post more when I start the tile.

Like how you have did away with the drapes . Are is that just in the dinning area . I have made the decision to use 5% window film in the coach , and just do away with the drapes i recently took out to wash . Although i think I'll keep the bed room drapes . Replacing the god awful flowered drapes with the off white from the living area

I well need to recover the valances . Also the flowered patterned drapes are up for grabs FREE!!!

Lovetogo , We have not replaced the shades , they just tuck up out of sight. They are day night shades and we use them a lot. The PO change the patterns before we bought the Coach.

@ Andy 2...was it really hard to take out the old carpet? Put in new carpet up front? We have a U225 and thinking about removing the maroon carpet (20 yrs old) and replacing the "box" with carpet and the rest of the floor with tile/wood...not sure which yet....but wondering how hard it might be.

Hi Mike, Well I guess it depends on your meaning of hard lol, I did not find it to hard to remove the carpet off the pedestal I tried to take it all off in one piece so I would have a pattern for the drivers side around the pedals and steering column. Now taking the carpet out from the living room was another story lots of staples and I removed the couch in two pieces. Most of the staples you will find on the edges and the stairs if you have carpet on them. I also redid the drawer faces with carpet as well, that was a little harder with the type of carpet we used.

We also recently did that on our 300. I found the trickiest part was cutting the new carpet for the pedals and steering column. I left the brake pedal in place and carpetted under the accelerator

I tiled the cabin pedestal sides and had the drawer faces upholstered in vinyl. I think I like the look of Andy's carpetted pedestal better than the tile. Be sure and post photos of your job.

The drawers is a product of the PO and they work great. Morgan I called Foretravel and had them send me two cans 12.50 a can plus shipping.

Well Im closing in on getting the floor installed. It has been quite a process, Thanks to Jor for some advice, While waiting for the tile I decided I was tired of having to have my keys with me every time I wanted excess to the motor, so I replaced the key lock with a T handle and it works great and if I was ever to have a fire I would be able to get it open quick. Anyway I posted some pictures.

That's a great idea on the engine compartment lock . Just a bet of info to every one with the 6v92. Any time your back in the eng/ compartment it never hurts to try and gently wiggle any of the wires going to all the sending units . If they become the least bit loose it we send your DDC / ECM into engine protect mode . As happened to myself on my maiden voyage home for Fort Meyers FL . Talk about feeling sick. OMG!!! These engs vibrator like a chainsaw. Short story... On my way home , I had the cruise control set at 65 ... talking to a buddy on the phone i noticed that my speed had dropped to 60 I told him that i though it had dropped . at that moment I tried to throttle up as to reset and at that point the "cel " came on, seconds later the stop eng/L came on, and the rest is history!!! so here i am, new toy broke before i ever got to play with it

Now my buddy is on the phone all the minute & a half & thats about how much time it took from me telling him that i had set the cruise @ 65 and me pressing the gas pedal . It was funny that i still used the famous line from the movie " Apollo 13 "

....setting on the side of the road i called the second owner to see if he knew of any reason why this would happen ? he went on to tell me the Same thing happen to him... and that a Detroit dealer took him for $4.000 then tried to tell him the he needed a new 5.000 ECM .To witch he refused to buy.. they then came back with some crap about broken wires that where encased not 5 inches from the ecm . At the end of the day it was a loose wire nut. Now you most know that the dealer never fixed /found the real problem.. they had to some how move that wire just enough to make a good contact just enough to get him out of there state.... He said it did that all the way home, so his only advice, was for me to go back there & wiggle the wires . The long short is .... I'm replacing all the sending units nuts with aircraft nuts so they can not back off. In fact after i got home i went to start the coach the next morning & smoke started coming from under the dash lid ..And there it was a loose nut on the back wall ..The ones that look as though there covered with that old asbestos wire covering . It could have very easily stated a fire! there's a lot of amps under the dash lid and a lot of loose nuts....JUST SAYING!!!
