won't go into/stay in travel mode

For some time, when I would back the coach out of my driveway, as it rocked across the gutter, it would momentarily jump out of travel mode, but then it would go right back in. Then, It got to the point that the moment the coach moved, it would start jumping in and out of travel mode. Took it to Parliament Coach in Clearwater, Fl. They solved some DC voltage problems I was having, then tried to diagnose HWH, but couldn't replicate the symptoms. They assume voltage was the problem, and declare it fixed. I pick it up, drive it home (15+ miles), no problem. Next time I back out of the driveway, same situation. Momentarily jumps out of travel mode, but then goes right back in. We drive 20 miles up the interstate, pull in to rest area to wait for friends. Shut coach down and level it. On start up, it won't go into travel mode. I play with the touch pad, switching back and forth between leveling and travel mode. No go. Then, I hit the "raise" button and let it raise about halfway. When I release it, it goes into travel mode, and we continue 50 miles to our destination with no problem. Anybody experience anything like this before?

Steve,

First thing that I would check is to see if all 4 of your travel solenoid coils are good. If one is bad you may not be getting enough air pressure to please the air pressure sensor.

Where would I find those, Mike, and how do I test them? Conductivity?

Steve,

They are located on the 6 pack manifold and they should be the top 2 on each manifold.  Check for no resistance on the 2 wires that come out of the coil.

Also, you might check the connection on the back side of the control panel. On ours, the plug sometimes works its way loose from the back of the board.  Just flip the dash cover up and you can check it out.

Intermittent problems sure sound like a bad connection.
I agree with Chris, check the modular cable connection on the touch pad and in the control box.
I would unplug and replug the power harness plug (red and yellow wires) in the control box and remove and reinstall the #3
(Battery) fuse and the #11(travel) fuse, just to be sure all those connections are good.
When you get it into travel mode check to see if all four corners are at the same travel height.
If they are then the wires from the control box to the travel solenoids,the travel solenoids and the ride height control valves are all working and probably not involved with your problem.

The plug on the back side of the HWH panel can be held in place with a narrow cable tie, where it will not accidently come out.

Om my 2003 U320 I had to replace my AP15387 Pressure Switch on the rear manifold.
It is shown on the HWH air manifold manual.
Unplug the switch and the travel light should come on.
Can not be adjusted.
To Test it The ignition key will have to be in the on position or run.
The pressure switch is wire 3215. When you unplug the travel light will come on if air pressure is below 85psi.

I am also going to say it sounds like the pressure switch too.  You probably hit your brake on the way out low RPMs and bottom end of the air pressure range.  Raising the coach fills it with air.
