No Water in the Shower

Help!  Getting ready for the first trip after winter.  Hooked up to house water, filled up the fresh water tank, and found that we have water flowing through the kitchen faucet, bathroom faucet, toilet and wand, but NO WATER coming through the shower...turned the shower connection on the manifold to no avail.  Everything worked fine before winterizing (blew air thru lines).  Any help will be greatly appreciated as we plan to leave town in four days!

Hi Brad15,

You might suspect the shower head is plugged up. Take it off and soak it in CLR to dissolve the corrosion and calcium deposits.

I had the same problem last spring. I couldn't get hot or cold water and it turned out to be the mixer valve which was plugged from residue (looked like Teflon tape and general corrosion products).  Not an easy fix getting in there on my machine, hope that is not the situation for you.  Have a great day  ----  Fritz

Coach is a 1999 U295 per bradf15's profile, if that helps with diagnosis.

I just went thru this recently, screw the shower head off, see if it's clogged with lime or other minerals.  It should blow right out if that's the problem.  (& many thanks to Ben & Bonnie Harris for fixing it!)

I take all of the faucet aerators apart and clean them every year.  Even as careful as I am with water filters I am surprised by the crud.  I think it is in the fresh water tank left over from the PO.  We had a cartridge fail in the service faucet.  Water from one side but not the other.  You might want to check the shower cartridge.

Thanks for the responses...took the shower head off...no clogs, but will soak per Jim's suggestion.  Guess we will try taking the handle off tomorrow and check for clogs.

Try going to the connection were the hose screws to the valve body. Mine was solid calcium. I seem to recall a screen in there.

Soak all removable parts in vinegar. We have to do that all the time with our well water at home. Shower heads and under sink point of use water heater are the worst.

We all can get the crud in our lines even when we filter.  Some parts of the country have real "hard water" ( I don't mean the stuff you put in your cocktail glass at Happy Hour).  I finally ordered an RV Water Softener and use it all the time now.  I have it in line after my whole house sediment filter to protect the softener.  Easy to use, regenerates with table salt, makes washing dishes, clothes, self, etc easier, more suds.  Should help prevent the build up of crud in water lines and water heater.

Best part- ordered it from Amazon for about $200- free shipping with Amazon prime.  Love that Prime.

I don't leave it outside, I fill my tank with my direct fill, then unhook and put it all away.  Running off the tank is easy, I don't worry about pressure in the park problems , etc.  I know I have soft water in the tank.  Just my way of KISS

our '99 U295 has a slide on/off valve mounted in the water line where the flex hose is mounted to the mixer valve.  Don't know if this was added by Factory or previous owner but it is very easy to sit something in the shower and push the valve to the closed position.  You might have something this simple.  Hope So!!

Shower head is not clogged...we took the handle off, pulled the faucet cartridge out (very hard to get out) and replaced it with a new single handle faucet replacement cartridge (Moen)...made no difference.  All we had was a slow drip from the shower head.  Tripled checked the manifold to ensure the setting was correct.  All other faucets, as well as the toilet and wand, had flowing water.

Update...Problem solved!
Took the hose loose where it connects at the wall and poked around in the opening with a scribe - BINGO--water shot straight into DW's face. (I didn't laugh...too hard)

Thanks to all for the help.

We got the Watts RV water softener 10000grains.  Only thing I have found so far is the opening for the salt during regeneration is small, so I have to be a little more careful pouring it in.  I find that I regenerate every 3 weeks .

Was there something in particular in there???  Junk or Calcium deposits?  Just wondering because, I can't seem to get the right temp out of my shower and I'm starting to think things in there are gummed up.

Was the disconnected clogged hose, the one in the shower going to the shower head, or behind the wall going to the faucet?
