**WANTED** Grand Villa Decals?

We just finished having her professionally detailed and brought back to a proper shine ^.^d .  With that said my decals are not great.  I spoke to FT and bought new FT decals along with the triangle symbols but the factory does not have any original "Grand Villa" decals left.  Before I have new ones made locally I thought I would ask if anybody has a few the might want to get rid of.

Thanks
Jeff

Jeff,

Anything leftover at this point could easily have aged-out adhesive, particularly depending on storage (that would be an issue with any that Encore may have had - they were stored without climate control).

Freshly-made decals will almost certainly have greater longevity and lower frustration factor.

Jeff, I have some really nice decals. But they are on our '89. I would consider selling the decals (coach included) for the right price. >:D  >:D (just kidding, just kidding)

Thanks, part of me was hoping someone out there bought some extras...wanted at least an original for a pattern.  Pictures are only so good and once its peeled off its useless.

Somewhere along the way I believe I've read (or heard) the figure $3000 for a job like that.  But don't quote me.

I spoke with Jennifer at Extreme very recently about removing decals and painting on the original design, she indicated it would be $8000.00 for the removal and painting.

I was thinking about getting ours re-decalled just to change colors. I checked with an outfit in Phoenix and the cost was just about $4,000. With that in mind, eight Gs for painting them on doesn't sound out of line.

You wouldn't do the job for 8000 if you had to do it yourself. I pay James 7000 for that service on my u270 about seven years ago it was worth every penny.

Someone here found a company that would design vinyl either OEM style or whatever was wanted, I can't find it now, believe it was in Phoenix area.

Jeff,

Please update as you proceed with your decal search.
I also have a 1991 GV that is in excellent condition overall - but decals are tired. Have thought about simply removing them - but I really do not like the blank look of no decals at all.

PS: curious about product and method of your detailing effort?

I posted earlier that I got a $4,000 quote to re-decal our 40' 95. That quote was from RV Stripes & Graphics in the Phoenix area. Ours were in nice shape except for the front cowl and rear cap. We removed the old decals from the rear and decided never to do that again. I asked the owner how much of the price accounted for decal removal. I think it was about $800. The owner also mentioned that Foretravels were a bit more difficult than some other models as the decals continue onto the side surface of the compartment doors.

We considered a different decal scheme but after removing the back set there is a definite shadow present. The shadow appears and disappears depending on the ambient light. The effect reminds me of a swimming pool. Drain the pool and you will see white plaster. Fill the pool and the sky magically converts that bright white to a pleasant blue.

I have a set of original graphics for a 1990 Unihome except the main wide decal is from a 94 Unihome and is too wide, would have to be trimmed.  Blue color.  If the buyer of my old coach doesn't want them I might sell them.  They came from Encore.

I removed the old graphics with Vinyl Off--fast and easy, one day job.
I have a quote from a local vinyl graphics shop to restripe like original for under $1000 with 3M 8 year vinyl.

I will update with some pics this weekend.  I got tied up with work and still have not gone to pick her up from the detail shop.  Hopefully on Thursday.

No painting on her from me.  I'll save my $$$ and put that toward the GV320 when that comes up in about 6 years  :D  :D ...I'll take some pics and have our local decal shop make them for me.  Thank you all for your input!

Sorry for the delay in updating....the pic below is of the 3M compounds the Detailer used to bring her back to a brighter white and she is smooth as can be.  Her finish was almost a matte finish before. I'm very happy with the results.  Nose decals could not be saved so she has an all white front now. I like it the DW not so much lol....so I'll put the decals back on, after all 26 years has left some deep "ghosting". I'll post a pic soon.
