Decal Removal

Quote
I removed the old graphics with Vinyl Off--fast and easy, one day job.
I have a quote from a local vinyl graphics shop to restripe like original for under $1000 with 3M 8 year vinyl.

Man, you had a very different experience than I on decal removal. We tired the Vinyl Off but it had little effect. I'd sure like to hear more about the shop with the 1K quote. What a great price! Incidentally, I  posted earlier that the Phoenix shop said it would be about $800 to remove the graphics. The correct number is $600. First the hair, then the memory.

At Xtreme, I asked Greg if he would use a heat gun to remove the obsolete club numbers.  He said they use a steamer if necessary, not a heat gun.  in as much as my coach had been sitting in the hot sun for hours, he needed neither -- just got a ladder and carefully peeled off the old club numbers.  Then he put the new ones on with much better results than I would likely have achieved.

I previously posted these pictures on another thread but maybe it won't hurt to post them for you here.  All graphics were removed and replaced.  The side Foretravel letters were removed and replaced with color matching decals.  The old Foretravel logos on the front and back were replaced with color matching decals.  The Motorcade club decals were also replaced with color matching decals.  On the back of the coach a large decal of the LSU mascot, Mike the Tiger, replaced the original graphics.  The new color scheme is flat black and antique gold.  New Orleans Saints colors!!!!  We originally wanted to go with a more modern scheme but due to shadowing decide to stay with the original scheme.  Total cost of the project $1800.00.

I love the colors and it really makes the coach have a new appearance. Thanks for the ideas. Maybe I can find someone in Florida for a similar price.

That looks great!!  My decals are fading and falling off , might want to do something similar.  Could you please share with us who did it and where you got those great decals.

Thanks
Ted

Enjoy that good looking coach driving down the road or sitting in a campground.

The work was done by a local sign shop in Thomson, GA.  The owner is Will Evans.  He made all the decals by using pictures of the old decals on a photoshop type program and cutting them on a vinyl cutter/printer attached to the computer.  Also attached is a picture of the Motorcade Club decal I forgot on the earlier post.
