How dirty has your coach ever gotten?

Left Salt Lake driving east on I-80. Two days of horrible driving conditions through Wyoming. In with a line of big rigs crawling along at 45 on unplowed roads. Finally got better in Nebraska, but the wind was still brutal.

My major concern would not be the dirt, but the salt & corrosive chemicals that get into areas you can not wash out.    Me, I'm chicken, would sit on the roost awhile longer.
But if you gotta go, good luck, be careful.

I do not think they spread any on this storm. They said they had to take stuff out of storage.

My FT came from TX/OK and is as rust free underneath as a 1998 can be. It's not going to see road salt, ever.

when we got to our campground here in Kansas for the night, I took the hose and rinsed underneath it as well as I could. when we get back to Tampa, it will get a complete cleaning and respraying with rust inhibitor on the bulkheads.

Hey Steve now that we are on the road full time the MH will get pretty nasty in between washings. But so far I manage to give it a good washing every couple of weeks. Going to be at a friends place for the season in New Hampshire for the season so it will not be a problem. But I just don't stress about keeping it spotless while on the road.

Anybody ever used Rust Bullet? Rust Paint, Inhibitor & Converter - Stop Corrosion | Rust Bullet

It's been around for a while and simpler than por15. I think I'm going to get few 1/4 pints and just start touching up every time I'm under the RV. I touch up with a rattle can right now.

I had to drive through that storm also.  Was raining when I left Fort Collins heading north but quickly turned to snow after that.

Worst part of driving through all of that is how the rain and snow makes its way up through the battery and propane floor vents and soaks everything inside.  Also through the cord slot.  I need to devise something that will stop all of that water.

I wish I still had a pic from our trip last year to FL from MI.  We drove thru a snow storm from Detroit till Louisville.  WOW!! From windows down black and salt covered!  First thing we did when we arrived in FL was spent the morning washing her.  Our coach has lived in Michigan most of its life so the '89 ORED already has some frame rust but she's a trooper. PO drove to Alaska a few times with her to. I'm sure that was a dirty trip lol

Steve & Ginny,

Your slush photos were very timely for us.  Yesterday we were planning our slow route from Phoenix heading pretty much due north through Utah, Wyoming into Montana to reach route 2 near the Canadian border.  We wanted back roads this time so route 191 looked good and it also took us through Yellowstone NP.

Our destination is Cleveland OH for an end of summer family doing, and we figured we better hurry up and get north to find cooler temps.  Your photos slowed us down.

Thanks . . .
