8.3 Cummins turbo heat shield

Thought I would mention this for the new & old owners of the 8.3 something to inspect and or modified with a heat shield.
The two high/low pressure hoses for the  dash AC that run on top of the valve cover closest to the turbo are prone to dry out and crack resulting in a blowout. This happened to mine at about 52000 miles.

Looks like another reason for a turbo wrap as well... but your solution is certainly cost effective!

We rerouted our a/c hoses so they now run from compressor to curb side of engine compartment then onward, so they are not near the valve cover anymore.

Happened to me on the hi pressure line. I got a tube of heat shielding off amazon and put both in it. Also homemade blanket around the hot part of the turbo.
