Stop engine light

I'm getting a momentary " Stop engine" light and alarm every now and then usually when you first start off. It does not set the Check engine light. Does anyone know what sensors/ parameters will set that light?

Low water in your expansion tank would be one.

If you ever notice lower oil pressure than normal, giving the oil sender a twist more snug slightly, this has been a rare issue on stationary engines with computers, giving alarms, no shutdowns.  The sender starts losing ground thru the pipe sealant, can indicate a  lower value

Bruce,
We had something similar... stop engine light momentarily coming on, sometimes on and off so quickly that I wasn't entirely sure that I saw it. This always seemed to happen under heavy load while climbing or merging onto the expressway. What seems to have cured it was when Ted (of Ted and Karen) encouraged me to change the primary fuel filter. When we got it off, there was the dreaded black stuff. We put a new one on, added a kill dose of Biocide, and no reoccurrence since. We have only taken two trips since, but there was plenty of climbing and merging, so I am confident that that was the cause. To corroborate that conclusion, the code I took from the Cummins Inline software said that there was a lift pump over pumping error, or words to that effect. That incident made a believer out of me regarding having adequate spares of fuel filters. You never know when you will get a load of c**p fuel... Reminds, me, I need to order some filters...

Thanks for the replies. Don I keep biocides in the system at every fill up, but I am going to change both filters primary has been about a year or so and 5k miles the secondary has about 10k on it. It does seem like I am loosing a little power on the pulls. Dave I will give it a little twist.

I agrees with the other posters. I would look at the oil sender and the coolant sensor in the expansion tank.
