Just got an email from Sam's Club today. They are selling a Queen size, 10" mattress. The top 3" is a gel-infused layer of memory foam. Only $390 (claimed savings of $684), with free shipping.

This is the one I would buy if I was in the market now. YMMV

We bought this mattress a couple of years ago and I like it better than the S&B Tempurpedic that we spent 5 times as much for.  Stays cool...which is a must for me!

We are Overdue to replace a home mattress and I have been really frustrated in trying to compare mattresses.  I place more confidence in this group than I do the sales people at stores but I have never had a FOAM mattress and now I am really confused.  The foam mattresses that I have laid down on in stores are really soggy to my taste but I have no experience in laying  ( lying ) (lieing ) on one for more than a few minutes.
Any one here made the transition from a firm spring type to a foam and been successful. ?
I read Tuft and Needles ads but in Georgia mattresses cannot be donated due to health department rules so I don't know what would happen if I asked for a refund and could not verify that I had gotten rid of it.

I see at the Original Mattress Website The Original Mattress Factory | Factory Direct to the Public that they have some stores in Georgia, but I don't know if there are any near you. We've had excellent experiences with them in terms of mattress education. It might be worthwhile to stop at one of their locations and discuss things with them. We have found their products to be of high quality and their sales people to be honest and straightforward. At least at the locations we've visited they seem more interested in meeting our needs (even if it means selling a less-expensive product) than in simply selling a product and making a profit.

Gary,

$400 or so for a queen sized 14" thick memory foam mattress at Costco was our choice.  We have a Tempurpedic at home too.  It is not the same as the TP but firm in the same way, very comfortable.  The extra height compared to the brick that was in the coach when we bought it has made no difference.  If you are used to a TP then you have already figured out what sheets and blankets to use to be at a comfortable temp.  Not always the same as other mattresses. Some folks worry about being hot but we are not.

Memory foam mattresses soften up with body heat and you sort of sink in where needed to have uniform pressure.  Some don't like that feel.  For us it is great.  It is a bit different but you get used to it quickly.

Very good especially the price, No regrets here.  Close to two years of actual use since we got it.

Does the 14" interfere with raising the bed and hitting the fan?  Also is it too heavy for the struts to lift it? I added just the memory topper and the brand new struts from Foretravel won't lift it and it hits the fan before it is high enough to work comfortably under.

In ours I can raise the cover with the mattress on,  15 yr old struts hold it up but I have a stick any way. It does not hit the ceiling fan but I always shut it off anyway  It is probably close and it depends on how much your fan hangs down.

Mattress comes vacuum packed in a box with wheels. Into the coach , out of the box, into the BR open the bag and it takes a couple hours to expand based on temp. Little or no outgassing.

We bought a "chilly pad" for the home front....I need to sleep cool, Marjet sleeps hot. Best money we have spent on nite time comfort.
