Door doldrum.

We like to keep the awning down & the door open, but NO LATCH! Anyone figured a way? My "trailer trash" string works, but. geez,  it's tacky.

That's basically what I do. I prefer to call it red-neck engineering. :) I use a bungee cord instead of a string and I also put a stickon interior door knob bumper on the end of the awning to keep from marring the door. (sorry don't have a pic)

Mount a fixed hook on the awning end and an eye on the door. This way you can release the awning strap just enough to lift the hook out of the eye and then close the door. And the wind will not cause the door to slam.
The hook & eye can be as fancy as you desire.

(and when you get it installed & tested, take pics and supply a parts inventory for the rest of us) :-[

Mike- looks like a good idea to me.  If it works, follows the KISS principle, and you like it, then do it.

STOP.  You already have a door stop.  See the round white thing toward the top of the door.  That is the female part of the door stop.

The male part is on the Zip Dee awning just forward of it.  Just need to rotate it away from the awning arm and you are good to go.

Yes the awning has to be in the correct of the two possible positions for the stop to work.

I have found that a really good gust of wind results in the door slamming very, very hard, so much so that I needed a much more positive way of holding the door open. There are times I thought the door would come right thru the side of the coach!
