Re: What's the mileage on your coach? Reply #28 – December 02, 2015, 07:19:30 pm Thanks for the replies................. most post their coach info in their signatures but it's interesting to know the mileage on them also. Its encouraging to read about coaches with 200K and 300K plus miles without major repairs. Also nice to know there are still some very low mileage older coaches out there too! I have been leary to buy a coach with 100k miles on it. I was afraid that there would be so many needed major repairs that it would be cost prohibitive to buy older and less expensive. For me, this has been one of the more informative threads.I do have one more question...I hear the term "Coach Bucks" used frequently. What is one coach buck equal to?Thanks All, TomX 2 Quote Selected
Re: What's the mileage on your coach? Reply #33 – December 02, 2015, 08:57:26 pm There is another side to the service records or lack of them.My personal experience is to assume everything not recently updated needs it. IF you start over replacing most of the wear and service parts then in essence you are starting over and should have a long term reliable coach.Like the coach was new. I almost prefer to go through it myself. New everything mechanical. Too many years in the biz and taking used coaches out rving.Of course it helps if the price paid reflects the needed work. The hidden gem is nice and does happen. Quote Selected 1 Likes

Re: What's the mileage on your coach? Reply #35 – December 02, 2015, 09:02:27 pm ....just hit 50,000 at NAC 1st of November....coach had sat for about 8 years, got her at 41,000 in Nov. '13 & didn't even drive her til March 2014.....barely broken in.....a few serious coach bucks making her "new" again, but well worth it....all major systems were good though, so mostly upgrades & replacing the basics: tires, air bags, fuel lines, roof coating, heating system, etc.....all else is cosmetic....paint, interior (windows, floors, etc.), entry steps, headlights/tail lights (next)....worth it, totally worth every penny.... About 5K since the engine was rebuilt after an air filter failed. What exactly "failed"? Paper filter come apart and went into the engine? Quote Selected
Re: What's the mileage on your coach? Reply #37 – December 02, 2015, 11:34:24 pm Pretty close. Air filter got wet. It was a cheap one put in by PO. Pretty much destroyed the engine. North of $25K to rebuild, insurance covered the repair.AIr Filter Failure Warning! Don't get Dusted! Quote Selected

Had 450,000 miles on it, used as a construction remote office, towed a VERY heavy trailer everywhere it went.wouldn't worry about any mileage on a FT coach that was well maintained Quote Selected 3 Likes

Re: What's the mileage on your coach? Reply #42 – December 03, 2015, 12:51:27 pm Hi John,Nice to know that a little or underused coach doesn't have to have more than its share of problems just because it sat for long periods. I remember seeing it when you got it home... the inside looked absolutely new, and the original James Stallings factory paint job was in incredible shape, especially once you painstakingly removed that hideously weathered 3M shield off of the front cap...DonQuote from: gkerbs56 – December 03, 2015, 06:17:57 amPurchased 2 years ago with 9000 miles, now have 21000 miles.
