New Generator End

Well, I am at a powertech repair place and watching the guy pull and replace the end on my  Powertech generator. It is quite the job and then I will have to back onto a street to get out.  Finally got the old end off and now the new end is on so it is reassembly now.

Wow! I've always had Onan gen-sets and had zero problems, but I'd be curious, as well.  ???

That's different than the "generator end" assembly. So the voltage regulator was bad?
