PORTABLE PROPANE TANK

I have guests staying in my coach for the near future. The propane tank on the coach is getting low and there is no practical way to drive it to have the tank refilled.

Is there a simple way that I can plumb into a external tank that I can drive to a propane dealer to have filled?
The tanks I saw at Menards had regulators already attached.
Can the tank be installed to a BQ grill fitting already attached to the RV tank?

In the hose coming from the main propane tank and BEFORE the main regulator, you should see a plug. Remove this plug and you can plumb in a connection for an external tank. I did this for boondocking and no other regulator is required. You turn off the main tank and turn on the portable.

We have a propane delivery truck that comes down our road every month, servicing the domestic propane tanks at some of our neighbors.  I flagged him down last winter when our tank was getting low.  He pulled right up to the coach in our driveway and topped off the tank.  Didn't even want any money - I just gave him my name and address and they mailed us a bill.

You could probably find some local propane company that would send a truck out to your coach and fill your tank.

Living in Chicago NOBODY has propane, all natural gas.
If we saw a propane truck driving around here we would swear it was terrorists!

Got two 30 lb bottles rather than a pig and that certainly solves the above problem
