Foretravel saved me

I am in Ohio with a lot of 20's at night - we have been waiting for our new grandson to arrive and help out with my 2 year old grandson.  Staying at Clinton County fairgrounds in Ohio as most campgrounds have not opened yet- everything freezes here in the winter.
Got the call Friday morning- dressed, jumped in the car, she had the baby, we didn't come back until Saturday night when they came home from the hospital..I found that my electricity had been turned off at the breaker box ( another person was camped in the same area and using electricity).  In fact, the panel door was left open to the elements- rain does not go good with electricity.

Fortunately, my coach is a 2001 Foretravel U270 so I had back up systems in place.  Had the main furnace set to keep things from freezing even if the electric heater was off- plenty of propane too.  Auto gen start was set to keep batteries from going dead - plenty of diesel fuel.  I also have solar  although the inch of snow might have hindered that. Bottom line- I got my light, checked everything, flipped on the breakers and we had 50 amps again. No idea how long the power was out, but it is nice having a well designed coach with back up systems so I didn't come home to frozen, broken pipes.

Yes- my daughter and grandson are fine.  He is fast- 30 minutes after they arrived at the hospital.  Happy grandparents up here in the cold , wet, spring in Ohio.....

Congratulations  on the new gbabe!  Named yet?  Might suggest Fast Freddie!
Yep, redundant systems with multiple fuel  systems on these coaches are extraordinary, there are so many ways of making things work.
