Dryer vent on a GV

We ordered a splendid stackable washer and it for the GV has anyone installed a vent? I will have to put a 4"  hole  in the curb side for the vent.  Any guidance would be great thanks Andy

You can find where the metal in the sides is at by going out in the morning and see the outline of the metal so that you will know where not to put the hole. I never put a stackable in a GV, but suppose it can be done. Is the drier 220? If it is it may not work on the generator.

Or, use a magnetic "stud finder" to locate the metal frame members.  Other than that, just put the vent wherever you need it.

Our 1997 U295 came with W/D. The dryer vent was the "window blind" type. It tended to blow open in the wind. The coach also came with some paneling on the bedroom side of the cabinet that showed water damage near the floor. I suspect that water intruded through the dryer vent and got into the cabinet. Xtreme P&G installed a different vent and cover. We've seen no more evidence that water is intruding through the vent.

I just completed an install last month.  I used a number of small magnets to mark the lines of the steel vertical and diagonal frames.  I then could add blue painters tape to help draw lines on the cedar wall material showing all the steel frames.  First I found that the place I needed to go was thru a diagonal frame.  So I lowered the platform 2" to give me a lower floor starting point

I looked what had been posted about installing vents.  I did not have any extra room for anything behind my combo unit.  My closest measure 1/2" deeper than the unit, from the inside door to the back wall.  So walked the hardware stores, looking for other solutions since the traditional dryer vent kit and 4" hose would not work.  I found that the black rubber coupling used to join PVC together with band clamps fit the exact inside dimension of the unit's flange removable flange.  It also fit tightly into the rubber discharge port of the unit.  So why drill a 4 1/2" hole?  I pushed the removable part thru the table saw to remove the part for a hose clamping.  I also pushed the exterior flapper door part thru the saw to remove the 4" part.  After many careful checks, I drilled a 2 1/4" hole from inside out, stopping when the center drill showed.  From the outside, running in reverse, I carefully drilled the exterior wall thru the gel coat.  Then with the combo in place, the black rubber part could be pushed tightly into the unit from the outside.  I used Dicor to seal around the 1/8" of rubber sticking out, and seal against moisture.

I read about and ordered a dryer vent cover from Xtreme, I will pick up next week in NAC.  Till then I am using the ugly louvered plastic thing.  So far after hours of dryer heat, everything is working fine.
