HWH Leveling. Travel Mode ok but no dump or raise

HWH Leveling on our 03/295 was fixed & serviced at FT two months ago. Since then it worked, but one time after driving around in town, it would not level. At the time I did not think much of it and I was in a hurry to get back home. Maybe i did not activate it correctly or something. Since that time, it leveled just as it should without any issues. Last time it leveled in front of the house last Thursday. In fact i had to use the dump & raise few times (I was changing the Gen oil).
On Friday after driving 320 mil we got to our RV spot. It would not level, dump & raise also would not work, but the Travel mode did work. Luckily where we parked is level so just putting it on to Travel mode "level" worked for our stay just fine.
This (Sunday) morning we noticed curb side of the coach was a bit down. I checked to see if the HWH level would work, it did not.
Now I was nervous if the air bags are going to work going back home. Once again I set it to travel mode and the curb site came up and the travel mode green light came on. So I think & hope the travel mode is going to get us back home Tuesday & for our 4th of July weekend stay we are almost level and good/ok.
But I wonder why level/dump/raise do not work. When put on level mode lights come on and "air" button blinks as it should but it does not level just the 4 corner red lights are on and two yellow lights (front & curb side) are on.
Also up and down arrow buttons do not do anything as the dump & raise do not do anything.
I wonder if something is loose or  fuse or a solenoid ? I mean panel acts like working with all the lights and putting it in to travel mode.
Please let me know if you have any ideas. I did search some of the previous postings but i could not find anything somewhat related to what is happening to our HWH system.
Thank you,

The connection on the back of the HWH control panel has been a problem like this before. Unplug and reconnect it.
Maybe it will help.

Al,

You are jumping around trying to chase symptoms.  You need a logical plan to figure out your problem(s).  My suggestion:

First:  Identify your HWH system (if you don't already know).
HWH Leveling System Identification

Second:  Locate the HWH Service Manual for your system, either in your hard copy manuals you got with coach, or online.  There are some manuals in the "Media" section of the Forum (Media/Files Library/HWH Manuals), and there are some at Beamalarm.com:
Technical Help - HWH

Third:  Once you have located the correct service manual, follow the trouble shooting steps.  They are all basically the same - they want you to systematically check each manual function on your HWH system.  If you find a problem with a manual function, follow the steps to fix it.  Once you are sure the system operates properly in manual mode, then you move on to testing the automatic mode.

It is important to follow the trouble shooting steps in the exact order!  Do this, and you may be able to pin down your problem.

For what ever reason it is all leveled now  :)  and as we are connected to shore power, it is blinking, meaning system is on "standby" and will/should check every 30 min to make sure we are leveled  ... so far as Chuck suggested by using this troubleshooting guide http://beamalarm.com/foretravel-links/PDF/hwh-manual-ml31043.pdf for our 2000 series HWH system, all i did was rerun the engine this afternoon and started the auto level by pushing the Air button twice. I heard air let out for front and curbside (yellow lights went out) and leveled.  Then i dumped air, raised a bit, dumped again & finally leveled it again.
So it is working just fine but for now i can not tell you why & how ..... Only think we did was leave her along for few hours and go in to town. When we got back, I read your responses, looked at the troubleshooting guide once more time, run the engine and it is all working now.
Thank you!

It is sounding more and more like a bad connection.

I have an older coach, 1996 U320.  Took it to HWH last summer for a checkup, basically the same issue as yours.  The technician told me to wait 15 minutes after I parked it to attempt to level.  He said the Mercury switches in the level sensor have to have time to "settle down" after travel before they will work properly.  He also said to level with the engine running for faster leveling.  It worked.  No more issues.

FWIW, this advice is not found in any HWH operator's manual.  IMO, "waiting 15 minutes" is not necessary.

Agreed, it is not in the manual, but the HWH technician at the factory said it was an issue with a particular sensor used on some of the older coaches.  They have since changed the type sensor used.

@ Michelle: It is very possible that i was not patient enough while engine was not running with key in on position to allow enough time for it to level ... however dump should have still worked without any delay.
@ John: I am also starting to think there may be some kind of an intermittent connectivity issue somewhere :-(
@Keahjohn: There maybe a slight possibility that things may need to settle down after running for 6-7 hours on the road, but then again it did not level at first the next day after sitting parked overnight. I wish it will/could be as simple as that. I am glad it worked for you.
For now I am going to keep hunting down what ever it is that is making it work intermittently.
Thank you!

I sure miss the old 3 lever manual leveling system that the 1990 U280 had.  It never failed and you could level the coach in about 30 seconds--- loved it!  And if I could transplant it into the u320 I would.
