Replacing Coach Batteries 3 AGM 8D

Anyone have experience with O'Rielly, they have them for 449. seems 550 - 590 elsewhere.

Have flooded now, but going to AGM, the bay is a mess from those flooded batteries.

thanks for comments,

Be nice to learn if they are still giving those folks that remarked at 18 months use if they are still getting good service.
The Flooded batterries have been in there about 3 years now and are still good batteries, but they are really messy. I plan to use them on a solar project.

thanks for the links Chuck :)

I get in trouble here for recommending gels instead of  agms.

Hear me out.  One another thread there is a discussion about depreciation  on a coach.

Least expensive way seems to use up the money invested as much as possible.

So to buy  potentially twice the cycle life batteries to start with might allow the continued use versus replacement at 1/2 the life of the more expensive batteries.

If used gels tested good on a prospective coach to me I would add more to the value than medium age agms.

Coach came with gels,  not tha much more money. Especially for a "keeper" coach.p

My two cents.

We installed our 2 O'Reilly AGMs in March, 2014.  They are still working just like new.  However, they have a pretty easy life in our coach.  We have a first-class Magnum inverter with a smart battery charger, solar panels with excellent controllers, and a Trik-L-Start to keep the engine start batteries up.  We keep the batteries charged to 100% between uses, and try to avoid pulling them down below 70% when dry camping.  Probably the biggest negative for our batteries is the extreme (HOT) ambient air temps where we live - Texas desert.

Have had 3 8dS from Lifeline since March 2011 and figure they are pretty much as good as new. Not had any  power loss issues but do have full solar etc to keep them up and live off them when travelling (usually do not plug in). So happy with these.

I have had mine from O'Reillys for 2 1/2 years, we do a lot of dry camping they are still working like new. Taking good care of batteries is the key to long life.

My gels are 9 years old and about time to be replaced.  My generator auto-start has been set at 12.2 volts, so the batteries have been discharged to 50% regularly.  They are finally down to half original capacity.  I plan to replace them with gels.
