outer rear wheel

One last shock to install, the drivers side rear back, will have to remove wheel.
Have read this being done but can you drive the coach on a wood platform only under the inner wheel and then remove the
outer wheel for more working room?

You can identify stud pilot wheels by looking at the end of the studs. If they are square then yes you can take the outer nut and wheel off and the square ended stud will hold the inner one on. Make sure you retorque the stud before you out the outer wheel back on sometimes the stud will spin a little with the nut before it breaks free. Also don't leave it on the one wheel for days it's a lot of weight on just one tire instead of a set of duals.

I replaced shocks and air bags at same time by removing fiberglass wheel covers.  Was easy to r & r with impact.

I would put a jack under the axle.
If you ramp it on one wheel you will indeed over load the tire. Not a good idea.

I've seen club service change outside tires running on a block of wood. It does overload the tire but for a short time and not moving is the way I would do it.

Got the wheel off by jacking up both wheels, got the shock on.

FYI,don't know if I got a oversized batch or what but for all 8 shocks I had to spread the 2 upper mounts to a wider fit.Was very
time consuming, shock was maybe 1/8" wider than the gap.

Thats common whn thy put them on before they probably used a impact and the mounts were squeezed in at that time. No Biggie.
