Electronic Bay Cooling Fan

Is there a way to easily find out if the cooling is working?

What temp does the thermal switch turn  the "hair dryer" on?

I guess I could use a real hair dryer to try and activate it.

Unreliable cell coverage right now.

3 new batteries,  running generator and 2 heat pumps. All of a sudden all 3 fault lights came on and wouldn't go out or reset,  or anything.  I shut the generator off and a couple of minutes later the 3 lights went out.  Checking for old code and  015
(which pertains to temperature) came up.

The Xantrex was kinda warm, not hot, but I would like to know that the cooling fan is working.

I do not know if it would work for this application but it does for my refrigerator and freezer:
 
I purchased a temperature monitor for my fridge. It came with two transmitters, one for the fridge and one for the freezer. The monitor unit displays the temperatures. IIRC, it was not very expensive.

When my electronics bay seemed hotter than normal and the fan was not running I used a hair dryer and when it did not start I ordered a replacement fan from Grainger, if I remember correctly.  That solved the problem. The thermostat can be bypassed if you want to check that.  Good luck!

Good news,  bad news.

The cooling fan works,  but the Xantrex inverter is on the fritz.

After running the generator for a while the 3 fault lights come on.  At the suggestion of the Xantrex tech rep I bypassed the inverter for about 30 seconds to do a soft reset.  I have done it 4 times already with no improvement.  At the moment all power is cut to the inverter
for two hours in hopes that a hard reset will work.  I'm not too  hopeful though,  the way things have been going.

The direct replacement for my Xantrex Prosine 2.5 is the Xantrex Freedom SW 3012.  It's supposed to be 'plug and play' using the existing wiring and a wiring adaptor.  $1725.00 from Amazon, and 1-1/2 hours to install.

We're on the road so convenience is a priority.
Does anyone have any experience with the Freedom SW 3012?

I replaced my Xantrex with a SW3012 back in 2013. Install was fairly simple and I did it myself. The battery connections are a little farther than the old Xantrex. That was my only install issue. But the Silverleaf unit could not get all of the data from the 3012. Since then Silverleaf has upgraded their firmware to support it though.

I an using the 3012 also. The connector is a cat connector not a phone connector. I also had to buy a different monitor for in the coach. My previous was a SW 3000 same specs as 3012 just older model. I am not familiar with the Prosine model but I think it used a different monitor. The 3012 works great has a lcd screen.
