Another try at identifying a part I removed from the underside of my 1997 U270

Ok...sorry for the newbe mistakes on posting....the pic below shows the sewer hose holder I removed as it was 1 bump away from ending up in the rear wheel and I don't use it.  While I was there I found this sheet metal guard or ? that was hanging by 1 1/2 bolt above the diff.  It was mangled like you see it...what is it and hopefully I don't need it as it is hopelessly bent and looks like it has been that way for a long time.

Gotta make the 11" supports so I don't die on my next slither under...thanks for that info.

I cannot think of what that would be other than a cover that someone put in to keep road muck etc off something. With holes either side it was a cover but for what?
You may have to go back under and look for a series of holes for screws to match the ones on sheet??

Cover under the radiators. Did it come from the passenger side of the coach?

Carl,

Do you remember seeing a harmonic balancer on the tail shaft of the transmission?  If your trans. has a harmonic balancer, that may be the scatter shield that was there to protect the fast acting and anti-lock brake system valves that are located just above the driveshaft.  If the shield was to come loose the end result would look a lot like what you have after the coach had been let down on the shield (while leveling) with it  hung between the frame and the differential.

That shield should have been mounted across the coach between the frame rails if in fact that's what it was OEM.
