Air Conditioner imitating a Typewriter

Hi fellow Foretravelers,
We have a 1999 U320,and just wondering if anyone has run into this issue with their Dometic A/C.
When the temperature reaches the set point you can hear an audible click ,then there is a 5-10 second pause
and the fan and compressor come on.Well on my #2 A/C when the set point is reached, sometimes there is 1 click, sometimes 2or 3,
Sometimes 4 or 5. The A/C always comes on and is cold, but I I'm wondering if the control board is going bad?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Steve

Hi Steve,
I had a new 15,000 rear unit installed by FOT about ten years ago. The original, and the new have done as yours always. I do not know why the clicks happen, but they do. I do not know if it is good or bad, just how it is. Both front, and rear, units are still working just great. It is over ninety degrees today and the coach is cool.

Hi Steve,
My #2 AC does the same thing before starting up.  I've never noticed it at shut down.  The unit works great and quite.  I've never heard the clicking on my #1 AC.

Might be worth pulling the trim from inside and looking at the squirrel fan.  Could just be dust causing a little arcing as the fan starts up and a quick vacuum will take care of things.  Just be sure to shut off the breaker to the unit before removing the trim and working on it.

Thank you so much for responding,
If other folks notice the same multiple clicks, than I guess I can simply look at it as a Foretravel quirk and find something else to worry about.

Thanks again
