Re: How to close engine hatch Reply #2 – August 10, 2016, 03:01:09 pm Yes, the OE gas springs did not have a "hold open" catch/lock.But, there are gas springs with that option-- could have been installed by a previous owner. So, I would look closely at the two gas springs, and if you do not see a lock, just try to pull it down. Quote Selected

The same thing baffled me when I was doing an inspection on our coach prior to purchase. Had to call the owner.There is a name for the engine hatch design that someone more technical than I am can tell you. But if you just pull the bottom out toward you, not straight down, it proceeds downward in a kind of shallow arc. Just be careful—it's heavy coming down. Ease it down on the two "stops," left and right at the bottom. Then push in the top. Quote Selected
