Info [recommendation for sales person wanted]

Hi,

We are new to the group looking to purchase our first coach. We have been looking at used coaches on line and now looking at one at MOT.  Could anyone recommend a sales person? We like Foretravel and looking at 36,38 and 40 Ft models seems the trend is on the 36 and 38 they get sold quickly.

Stuart or Mel could help you. Also there are listings here on the forum of member coaches. In older coaches it is not only price but condition and maintanence and even records.

Mel is our choice for MOT.  He always has time for us when we want to see coaches and is straight with his answers to our questions.

Absolutely, without a shred of doubt, Mel at MOT.

I do not foresee needing to buy another coach but if that day comes I will call Mel. My entire buying experience with Jason and Mel at MOT was incredible. I've bought a bunch of cars, trucks and homes over the years and I've never experienced anything like it.

Might help if we knew your price range/year wanted etc as there are some excellent coach's on the Forum classifieds. At least you will know some record of condition and many here may know it personally.

Have bought three thru Stewart, one of which was joint work by him and Mel.  They are good...but i find the other three men are also honest and pleasant, maybe just a little less experience,  Michael has bedn respinsible getting the video program running on sales coaches.  Brad helped me with a customer that another salesman had first contact with, appreciated him being a fill in.

Good luck, you cannot do any better than MOT, imho.  Send me a pm if I can help

Ditto Ted....if their coach fits the bill, you know the present owner.  Should be advantage in many cases and avoid sales charge.

If it not want you want, does not matter though.

I would guess that 36 ft coaches may or may seem to sell quicker because there are less of them?  Either length coaches can be great....mainly what do you need?

Charlie and Eileen, we bought our 2001 36' U320 from the original owner. Even though we did not buy from MOT they have been very helpful when we needed it.  Look at as many coaches as you can over several years, with and without slides, one slide or more, 36 and 40.  You might find a 38.  See what the floorplans are, bathroom arrangements, kitchen, eating, everything. Look at basement storage space when you add a tag. There are some big differences from one year to the next.  The more you know the better buyer you will be with less surprises.  Best of luck.  Ask for all the help you want.

We found our coach here, and it was really nice to deal with the owners who had owned, maintained and upgraded the coach. I would highly recommend checking with Carol & Jeff Savournin. They appear to be great people with an outstanding coach.

Also, some people really prefer a shorter coach, but we researched carefully and found that a 40-ft coach was the optimum length for us. That another reason I would highly recommend checking into Carol and Jeff's coach.

Roger is spot on. When I posted a while ago and said we'd looked for ours for a year, he posted "Is that all?" It's a matter of not knowing the right questions to ask, otherwise, in our case, get the Coach Buck stash out! :'(

Stay on this forum for a year or so and you should be way more knowledgeable than most other folks.

Met a fellow who had his coach for 20 years plus ( not a forum member) and claimed he knew every inch of his coach, and he was a wealth of info BUT,  he did not know that his rear bulkhead was in very bad shape ( major Fiberglas delamination and severe rust jacking). Point is , he would have known to look there because of this forum. I did.

Good point!  Charlie and Eileen - if you more details on what you want, feel free to post and let the forum know.  There certainly are some nice coaches in the classifieds or, as with Jeff and Carol's, one's soon to be that aren't yet listed.  There may be others who are thinking of or planning to sell but haven't posted publicly about it.  Jor's recent purchase of Peter and Beth's coach is an example of this.

In this case, you had two couples that had run FTs and knew what was what. Talk about a win-win!  I'd bet this was bittersweet for Peter and Beth, and a slam-dunk for JOR & DW!  ^.^d  I'd say, a perfect example of how cool this forum is!!!
