Keyless entry

Having purchased our U270 used, the PO was not able to furnish the remote door lock device(s). I am only making an assumption that a 2004 U270 had a remote as new. Can anyone help on this question? And if there was originally a keyless device where would one begin to obtain a replacement?

Thanks!

specification for 2004 U270 on Barry's Beamalarm website list keyless entry as standard.

2004 Foretravel U270 Specifications

Start with Foretravel Parts - they can tell you the OEM and if they are still available (very likely they may not be) - often Fobs are pretty Generic and can be picked up on Ebay dirt cheap - you will need the instructions how to remote program, perhaps an OEM programming harness (usually a button with two wires - effectively a toggle switch that plugs into the main controller so you can "signal" it electrically (after all you have no remote) to go into programming mode.

If you can't assemble all that stuff, se my recent threads regarding the unit installed by MOT in my 2000 U-320 to replace the entire OEM controller and FOBS.  it can be done - either locally or in NAC depending upon the skill of your local car stereo security system guy.  - On my coach the Brain box was located behind the panel immediately to the right of the entry door as you enter. LOTS of other electrical stuff terminates there, a good spot to be familiar with on your coach

Some on the board have gone to keyless entry pads in lieu of or in addition to the remote system
