Hwh- only dumps air out of rear air bags, front air bags won't dump.

When I was ready to leave I couldn't get the travel mode to come on. I extended the slide and retracted it and then was able to get into the travel mode.
Once I got to my destination, upon checking in air was exhausting from the front of the coach when I retracted the step slide. When the slide was extended the air would stop leaking. I did this several times with the same result.
When I reached my parking space which is fairly level I couldn't level the coach using the control pad. The slide step was closed and I had 90 plus lbs of air in both front and rear tanks.  Once I retracted the step slide again I lost air in the front tank. The coach was maintains the ride height in the travel mode. Decided to leave everything as is till the next day.
Today I safety blocked the coach, started the engine to build air pressure and worked the step slide back and forth but no air exhausting or leaking like it did the day before.
I took out the safety blocks and tried to level the coach but couldn't get it to level in auto or manual. The 4 red lights and 1 yellow were on the control pad. I could manually raise the coach but when I dumped the air only the rear would dump and the front is raised as high as it will get. During all this time my aux compressor has not started.
I did use the search function and read and reread all 3 pages. At this point I have used the corrosion X method on the control pad and am waiting for it to dry before plugging it back in to see if that solved the problem. As I'm posting this the aux compressor kicked on for about 2 mins.
I'm not sure if I have 3 separate issues, 2 issues or do you think they are all related. I have not called HWH yet was hoping someone would give me the magical fix. Any ideas?

John,

The intermittent nature of your malfunctions makes me think "electrical" rather than "mechanical".  Besides looking at touch pad connection, you could look at the control box (in one of your storage bays).  Unseat and reseat any cable connections at the box, and look for blown fuses.

Do you have the operator manual for your system?  If so, it should have trouble shooting section.  If not, tell us which system you have, and someone will point you toward a online copy of the manual.

Thanks Chuck, I will see if I have any manuals and will plug and unplug the connections in the control box tomorrow. I have 2 slides and 3 control boxes. Is the one with the 15 amp fuses across the top used for the levels?

The number 1 cause of air bags not dumping is something very simple - mud dauber nests in the exhaust ports of the 6-pack.

Use your blocks and go under the coach with a small screwdriver or other implement and carefully probe into the exhaust ports on the manifold.  If you get dirt or something like concrete dust it's mud dauber nests - dig them out and try exhausting again.  Photos in the post linked below

Sorry, I'm not familiar with the control boxes on your coach.

If you haven't already found it, beamalarm.com has a good HWH technical help section.  There is a link there to the 2000 Series manual, which may cover the system fitted to your coach.

Arrows indicate location of exhaust ports on HWH manifold...must be kept clear of obstruction.

I was hoping to see a dauber nest, but no, exhaust ports are open on the manifold .

That would have been too easy.  I recommend following the trouble shooting guide in the 2000 Series manual.  Important not to skip any steps - go through the whole procedure exactly as written.

I didn't have to go too far before the trouble shooting guide stated that the control pad was faulty. I got to Part 2a and that's pretty well where I'm at. The system active light won't come on. I put in a call to HWH, guess there closed on Saturdays.
Thanks agin for your guidance and will update when I hear from HWH.

If you have not done so already before calling HWH try re-seating the cables behind the touch pad; open dash and pushing on the cables connected on the backside of pad. These came loose on my coach from vibration and I believe my traveling over a Speed Bump located outside my storage yard a bit fast too many times during the times I parked there! :-[  Saved me a coach buck finding the loose cables!  ;)

If it is mounted in the console, remove the screws and pull it up if mounted in the dash you can lift the dash top and access the cable at the rear of the panel.

Like Red Tracror said, mine was on the console. Good suggestion Tony and was hoping that was it but it wasn't.

I received a call from HWH today and received my reference number . Called back and did some troubleshooting with Randy and determined that the control pad was the issue. They are sending me a new one .

Received the new controll pad from HWH and installed. The coach came out of travel mode and leveled the coach without any issues. Thanks for the help from this forum.
