I did check the fittings and they were clean.  The spring and the small round plate the spring pushes had rust.  The white was like lime from water condensation.  I installed the PPV and went with my gut feeling and brushed on the teflon pipe thread paste.  I don't get carried away with it.  I just make sure it is into the depth of the threads and then with my finger I push it into the threads and remove the excess as I go around the fitting.  When I screw it together I still get a little pushing out.  Checked for leaks and the coach just comes up to travel mode with no problems.  I took the time to increase the air pressure on my compressor from 110 psi to 120 psi.  All is good.  I did go under the coach to check all my filters and all the filters were clean as a whistle on the outside except the fuel filter.  It was very dirty and covered crud as if it was never changed or it wasn't changed in a long time.  I don't know if it was the primary or secondary filter.  It had a valve at the bottom.

My secondary has a water drain too, plus the electric sensor. Primary only has the water drain.

Trying to locate the secondary.  I found a filter on my air dryer, the oil filter, and the primary fuel filter. I found another filter on the other side of the engine towards the back don't know what that is for.

John,

Are you talking about the filter hid under the turbo?  If so that is your antifreeze filter/sca filter.  Which filter will depend on what type antifreeze you are using.

John,

If you have the OEM Pure Air Plus it has 2 filters. Desiccant is in the spin on filter but you have an inner that is your  coalescent filter. (also it has several internal parts that need attention when you service the filter)

Be VERY careful with which coolant filter you use.

It depends on TWO things:

1.  If an OAT-based coolant, which Foretravel used on all more recent coaches, you use a filter BLANK (i.e. it is a filter ONLY).

2. If you have traditional "low silicate for diesel coolant with added SCA" you need to test the coolant (test strips) to determine the correct filter.  So, these filters come with either 0 SCA (i.e. a blank) or different quantities of SCA from 2-16 units as I recall.

So do NOT just replace what you have with the same number without verifying what you need.

Mike,  I do have the Pure Air Plus.  All this is a first for me.  I have a few Foretravel owners here in my subdivision that can school me.  Gary Omel being one of them.  It's getting dark tomorrow is another day.

Thanks everyone.  Tomorrow I will have more info.  Maybe I should have started a new topic on the filters.

Your secondary filter is on the passenger side of the engine at the fuel pump.

Crane an I will check that tomorrow, thanks.  As far as Brett's question my coach uses Texaco Extended Life Coolant 50/50.  Does it have to be Texaco? Are all 50/50 coolants created equal?  It states on the label "Do not mix with traditional coolants or SCA's.  Use blank filter (NO SCA) if required.  Maybe I should look in my owners manual to verify.  My Aqua Hot has the same label.  I pulled this label from my engine fill tank.

I am using Final Charge which is a replacement for the Texaco ELC it was easier to locate at local auto stores. It came in the engine, Aqua-Hot and Generator

Thanks Craneman.  That is a big help.  Now to determine the filter I need.  Do you have the same engine in your coach?  My paperwork says M11 Celect Plus, but it is still a Red Top.

OK, while you guys are giving info... my "pop off"  (excess  wet tank pressure) valve that a shop in Nac replaced was too long and got into the frame of suspension, and has bent/cracked the pipe short nipple & pop off end. Can I just go down to NAPA or Lowes and get a valve for a larger compressor tank? 150 # I think??

Yes. Or any truck shop should have a 150 pound safety valve kicking around.
