Towing a Wrangler

I want to add a new winch bumper to my 2014 JKU. Currently I tow the jeep using Blue Ox tow bar that fits just below the stock bumper. All of the after market bumpers look like they will not fit because of the tow bar being in the way. On the jeep forum they suggested removing the tow bar, install an aftermarket bumper and tow from it......
Do any of you tow a jeep using that method?
I really want to be able to self recover so I need a winch. I have looked at a winch plate that sets on top of the stock bumper but it looks terrible.

My 1973 CJ5 V8 (second of my four Jeeps) came with a "worn wench" as it was listed in the paper.  I bought in 1974 from a guy who ran out of money.  He really wanted to keep a Jeep so I swapped him my 1947 CJ2 with a farmer installed 6cyl Studebaker Champion engine in it.  It was a well used unstoppable brute.  The guy who was broke was happy, I took my almost new CJ5 with its Warn Winch home, made a custom built roll cage, mounted big tires, hopped up the V8 and and turned it into a river bottom mud machine.  Green and American Hoist yellow. Way more fun in the mud than any sand dunes or desert rat stuff. Horse power, momentum and skill from experience was the trick.  A good winch was critical if you wanted to try to do your best and get home.  Pretty jeeps are nice, functional is all that matters.

But that winch mount looks nice.

thanks John for that link.
I think that is the way I will be going. Might need to do more with the lift however.

Can I get a measurement from you? Center to center of the towbar mounts? I need to weld some on mine and wondering what that measurement is so I can try and make it work on mine.. thanks
