Back up camera wiring

A lot has been written about this subject in previous posts and I think I've read them all, but I still have a problem.
This is what has worked:
1- Installed new monitor (surface mount over old hole).  Connection to Audit using BNC/RCA adapter on "video line 1".  Good read outs on tank levels, compass and temp.
2- Identified ground, 12v and coax at the rear.  Camera has two RCA connectors.  Red RCA splits off to ground and 12v and are connected.
3- I tested the camera by running a temporary wire with RCA plugs down the hall way between the camera and #2 video RCA port on the monitor.  It works, when the center position on the dash selector is selected and I push the button on the monitor for video#2.
What's not going so well:
1- I want to use original wiring, so connected red coax wire by camera to video out RCA plug.  Up front I connected the cable from the camera to the #2 video in plug using another BNC adapter.  The best I can do is a black screen (blue screen when no signal), but no image.
2- I also tried the original setup with the camera cable going into the audit and got the blue screen with no signal message.

The only wire that I didn't ID was a bare wire that was next to the red coax, sharing the same sleeve.  From the wiring diagram, I assumed it was a second ground and I connected it temporarily another ground under the bed.
If anyone has managed to get through this write up and has any ideas, I would appreciate hearing from you.
Thanks

That three-way switch selects from camera, tanks, and compass/temperature. There is not a different switch to change the video input for the camera. That original BNC connector is what brought the camera signal to the original monitor. What do you  have connected to the camera end of the coax?

Hope this helps,

I cut an RCA connector with about 3" of wire that I had laying around which I plugged into the "video out" plug and attached it to the red coax wire by the camera.

The camera has 12+volts from a (white) wire that used to be attached to the old camera (see #2 above).

Sven,
You need to make sure the monitor is plugged into the Javalina system via the BNC connector., that is the only way you are going to receive anything from the current wiring from the rear.  In the rear when you remove the old camera you will have a stand alone 12volt connection coming off the old camera that will power the new camera.  Then you have that funky looking video connector from the camera.  Follow that down to where it is connected and cut the wires individually.  On the old Javalina monitor their was a cable with a BNC connector.  Steal that cable and attach it in the rear where the old video cable was.  The put a BNC to rca adapter on the connector and connect to your camera.  I used crimp style connectors at all of my connections.  Once you connect everything you can power up the system.  If you used the old power connection for the Javalina system you need to turn on the switch and then the power button on your monitor.  Then you can toggle the 3 way switch to view everything.  If the Javalina system looks reversed image you need to reverse the image on your monitor.  Depending on the camera you have you may need to reverse the image on your camera.  Hope this helps.

Maybe I am ready this wrong - but if that wire was in the same sleeve as the video line wire (In our coach it was wrapped around the video line like a shielded line), it is the video ground.  It also needs to be connected to the RCA plug.  The video-line wire is attached to the center of the RCA, while the ground is attached to the edge.  Did you already do that and I am being redundant?

Sven, that is the ground shield for the video.  You need two wires for the video.

Here is a picture of the wires of the RCA.  Red would be the actual video line, black ground/shield (from the same sleeve).

When I replaced my monitor, I did the opposite of you:  I cut off the RCA jack from the monitor and spliced red to red and black to black directly.  But now I don't have the convenience of being able to unhook the monitor if it is ever needed.

This was exactly the information I needed John - everything works now.  Thanks for help and all the comments that were made.
Somehow I missed the information about the panel that the Audit is attached to.  It really helped being able to slide the whole thing out of there.  Once again, I'm impressed with how they built this coach.

I replaced the whole lot, Camera, and Monitor, with One from china, Its WiFi, But I needed power and an earth back there,
Its impossible to track those wires thru the Coach,
So I pulled the four wires that connected to the Camera out, by pulling the four wires out with a new wires connected to the old wiring harness,
It came out very easy, The whole length of the coach, 40 odd feet of it, Its now on a fuse of its own but connected to the original switch in the dash to turn it off and on,
