Centramatics and Tire Report

Before our recent trip I replaced the front tires which were 8 year old :o  Goodyear G149's 9R22.5.  The new tires are Toyo M154 265/75R22.5 LR G.  They are approximately 1" wider than the 9R's and the same height.  The left tire will just touch the drag link when fully turned to the right but no problem otherwise.  I also installed Centramatic balancers, part #600-638.  The ride is nice and smooth.  When trying to determine which Centramatics to order I found conflicting info, but these were the correct ones for my '95 with 8 bolt wheels and drum brakes.
I'll get M154's for the rear before our next trip along with Centramatics.

Dave,

Your max cut angle is EASILY adjusted with a small screwdriver.  There are two small external screws on the Sheppard M100 box-- one on top, one on the bottom.

Turning them in reduces max cut angle.  Can't remember which screw controls which direction, but should be able to determine easily.

Dave- glad to hear about the Centramatics.  I have read about them but since my tires are about 2 years old now , not sure if they would really make a difference.  You noticed a difference, but also you had new tires, so could that have helped also?  Just curious.
Enjoy your ride and hope to see you down the road sometime.

You both have good points.  I mainly just wanted to report about the tire size and part # for the Centramatics if it could possibly help anyone who might be looking for info.
The new tires may have been just as smooth without any balancing. :)
