Is it totaled?

Friend of mine in KOA Chula Vista posted some storm damage from yesterday's wave. The owners weren't at home, thank goodness!

Chuck,

    That is scary to see a coach in that condition. This might be a lesson for us all
to be aware of our surroundings when we park. I am guilty of not looking around
when I park if it is a cloud free, sunny day. Guess they could make one of those
State Farm commercials about that coach. Thanks for sharing the pics of this
accident and from Q.

That seems mostly cosmetic to me. I recommend "Wood Doctor" in the large spray size.

Chula Vista means Gorilla Glue in some language, pretty sure.
The moral: Never park near a Tree. Or Lightning. Or Wind. Mind those wide-open spaces.

That coach looks like nothing held it together, disgusting to see. I know if we had one of that make I would be selling it yesterday.

The foretravel owners are fortunate.  All the current SOB's are similiarily constructed.  If you were in that coach you were seriously injured or dead.

Not necessarily.  Welded, laminated, steel framed sidewall has many times that coaches strength.  Plus a welded aluminum laminated roof structure and the cabinets mounted into metal to strengthen the roofs corners.

I would not own any coach other than a foretravel or country coach for the crash worthiness.

Remember I put a large car on pieces of wood on a FTX Foretravels roof

I'm a firm believer that after a certain amount of damage from whatever, I don't want the coach back again! Fire...let 'er burn. Wind...let 'er roll on down into the valley. What ever. Some damage can never be fixed.

You dont sit or park under trees here in OZ for that reason,  The Gums drop very large branches,
They have killed a lot of people, Branches dropping,
Its certainly been Flattened out, You wont buff that out,

Looking at those photos again...morbid curiosity.  I noticed in the 4th photo, it appears that the rear wheels at in the middle of the coach - really short wheelbase!  But I think it's just a optical trick due to perspective...if it was built like that the coach would be a handful in stiff crosswinds!

What is/was "FTX"  Was that a model?

Kind of hard to NOT park near a tree here in Wisconsin CGs. We have some beautiful National Forests in the northern half of WI.

       The structural integrity of a full length slide-out and drivers door does not inspire much confidence. It's true that the steel in an FT or BB may have slowed it down some but that is a Big piece of wood laying there !

Yes, and it was probably a lot bigger before the clean-up. 
Whatever laid down on that coach weighed more than 6000 lbs. and I'll bet the remnant in the picture weighs about that.
