Foretravel Water Leak Question

Recently took a weekend trip in our 2002 U320 40 ft on 12/29/16. Went along real good with the temperatures in the upper teens to upper 20's. Went over Monarch pass and when we got on the West side down into the Gunnison valley, the temp dropped to -3, and for the next hour never got much above 0. When we got to our destination the temp was in the upper 30's and things started to thaw out. I did notice that when we turned on the water pump, water was leaking out from the bottom fairly heavy. Could not get water to come into the toilet or the faucets. Pump sounds like it is running, but no water. Have not turned on the water pump since. Wondering what the best way to get started looking for the leak or leaks. Also what precautions to take should we ever run into this situation again.

Bert,
Water leaking into the basement is a major concern for your coach.  So, I would turn off the water pump and if not frozen, would close all the maniblock valves until you isolate the leak and fix it.

Also, carefully dry out the basement floor.

If water in basement still frozen, use the furnace/Aqua Hot to warm the area enough that you can diagnose it.

And use some form of heat to make sure the basement/wet area continues to stay above freezing.

Sounds like the water in the pump froze and cracked the pump. I hope no other water lines froze and cracked.

It sounds like you were driving using just dash heat.  In below freezing temps you must keep the coach heat(furnace or A-H) going to prevent basement freezing.
