Drawers

I removed the utility drawer from the joey bed compartment. The 34' 270 has a single metal utility drawer in the joey compartment but with the fold out compartment door it is awkward to access (much better with the bus doors). In addition, it takes up a lot of space which is impactful on the 34' model in that the joey is only about 34" wide. Anyhow, I like this a lot better

I found an over-the-propane-tank drawer at Visone RV from a wrecked Foretravel. Now I've got that little drawer that I have been missing.

When we were traveling in the 40 footer I had a LOT of stuff with us that we really didn't need. I think I felt an obligation to fill up all that compartment space! I think this setup (small joey & one exterior drawer) is about right for us.

Hi John,
I also removed the drawer from the cargo bay and added a drawer above the propane tank. Only difference is that on ours, I used the drawer I removed from cargo bay. It was a shoe horn fit to be sure... I had to cut off the extra 1.5" square tubing of the drawer mounting frame that allowed it to clear the compartment light. Even so, it cleared by about a 3/8" of an inch when putting the LP tank back in. Also, I doubt it would have been possible to mount above the propane tank if I hadn't already removed the LP tank. That drawer (along with the old inverter) had collected entirely too much DNA from my scalp and shoulders before I moved it!

Glad you pulled that off. That was my original intention. I measured, remeasured and measured again. I didn't think I could make it.

Having the tank out made it possible... but not easy! I had the tank out when redoing my basement framing. I took advantage of having the compartment empty to derust and paint the tank and clean up the compartment. I wouldn't have gone through the hassle of removing the tank just for the drawer installation. The whole basement/bulkhead rebuild project was full of those "while I am down there, I may as well..." kind of moments. One of the reasons the whole thing took the better part of two years to finish.
