Slide Bladder leak discovered 2001 U320

Hearing aid turned up full allowed me to hear the slide out leak.  Tracked it to the top of the bladder right over the DS second window going aft.  Put my finger over the leak and it stopped completely.  Obvious first choice to avoid the cost  to pull the slide and replace the bladder.  Is there a chance that it could be patched? if so what to use?  Mask the surrounding area and try Flex Seal?  Any tried it yet?

I can't tell from the picture but it looks like the tear is on a seam or a profile ridge.  If so it may be easy to apply some Super Glue Gel and then pinch it together.  The gel will give you more time to position things.  I have used it successfully to bond rubber many times.

If it doesn't hold you've lost nothing....................................but I'm bettin' it will.

I tried basically a tire patch job and it lasted a couple months but then it started leaking again, couldn't handle the inflate and deflate.
I used flex seal on few things around the house and I believe it won't work either because of the positive air pressure. The new bladder is much better material then the old one and MOT did a good job doing the replacement.

This product can close the hole/crack - short term - anyway.  A fellow Fofum member used it on a crack in his LR slide bladder.  I do not recall how long it lasted - a number of weeks until he could get back to MOT for bladder replacement.

Aquaseal Neoprene Wetsuit Repair Adhesive
PRODUCT CODE: 10114

I also purchased the Cotol:  Aquaseal & Cotol-240 Cure Accelerator.

I keep a kit in my tool box.

It can be purchased at Amazon and I believe Walmart - Not the Cotol though.

Tim, I had same area leak on 5878, 155,000 miles.  New bladder and block, MOT.

Be sure read my report about the fibrrglass seam seal refreshed when slide was out, to avoid possible delam on slide.  Can really only get to that when slide is removed.

Yes,  Aquaseal is what works great!  We taught that secret to John & Kathy (Hatchet), and I believe their's lasted for at least 7, maybe 9 months, until they got around to replacing it.  I'll let them chime in if they read this thread.  It all depends on how big the crack is.

This was Hatchet's original post on using Aquaseal.

Amazon is where to get it.  Any fishing store or scuba shop should carry it.  Walmart doesn't, I'm pretty sure.

Here is a link to Aquaseal from Amazon.  We just ordered some today....for scuba gear, since we don't have slides.  ;)

Aquaseal w/o Cotol

or if you want some with the Cotol, which just helps it dry faster:

Aquaseal w/ Cotol
