Firepit from Propane Tank

I want to run my little firepit from the coach tank. I picked up some 3/8" hose today along with a fitting that works with the extra port on the coach tank (arrow). After thinking about it, however (better late...) it occurs to me that this is a high pressure access and I would have to install a valve of some kind. That seems like a bad idea so I was thinking maybe plumbing something after the coach regulator. Still need to be able to shut it off. I don't have any experience with quick connects with LP, just air. Anyhow, here's my setup. What's the best way to do this? Thanks.

Jor, I added a T at the bottom of the regulator and a locking quick disconnect female fitting.  The hose (low pressure) has the male fitting that plugs into the quick disconnect female fitting.  You have to move the lever which locks the connections and opens the line.  The other end of the hose should be a 3/8" flare fitting which connects to the fire pit.  That is pretty common but check yours to be sure.

Air and gas quick disconnects are not the same.  You could come off the high pressure side with the correct fittings and valves for a second regulator and hose to the firepit.

Or you can get a small LP tank that you can take anywhere to get filled and use the golse that came with the fire pit.

I have the same valve Jor on ours,  works great,  Had a shop crimp  up a 25' ' hose.

All my devices have regulators.  Yes the hose vents out  propane when you unhook it

I installed a shutoff valve and use air line quick connects. All fittings that could leak are outside in open air. I can run firepit and also my Camp Chef Expedition 3 burner stove etc. Works great.
