Generator fuel supply hose lead
Getting ready to head out of town. Thought I'd check generator before leaving. Oops. I notice a diesel leak not far behind the generator on my 1999 270. I slide under the unit and the fuel is dripping off the front right air tank. I pull generator out, follow hoses and there are two hoses going into a mass of hoses heading into a box of sorts. It's like a cradle under the motor home with a mass of hoses and possible wires I assume. My thought is to remove a section of these two fuel hoses and splice in new hoses where the offending hose section is. I think there is a supply hose to the fuel pump on the generator and a fuel return hose for non used fuel. The fact that the generator runs fine makes me think the low pressure return hose is the culprit. I know I've read about this problem in the past. I need to know the inside diameter of these hoses, what is available for a splice, and the success rate. I'm looking for a temporary fix that might last for years................... HELP...
