Atwood Heatpump Install

I Replaced my old Coleman Mach A/C unit with a New Atwood 15K Heatpump.
I started by turning off the circuit breakers and removing the inside plastic ceiling cover. This gave me access to the metal plenum that connects and holds the unit on the roof. I disconnected the electric wires and removed 4 bolts that go into the roof unit. Then removed this piece.
I then went on the roof and moved the old unit away from the opening. I then cleaned the area around opening. We then set the new unit over the opening and I went inside and bumped it around until the gasket which is already attached to bottom of unit was even all the way around the opening.
At this point electric wires are connected.
The plastic ceiling plate is then installed using the 4 bolts that were provided with the unit. These are pulled up snug and then tightened evenly until gasket compresses about halfway. Then the ceiling register is hung on a provided tether and the control panel wires are connected. This is then secured with 4 provided screws.
The unit is super quiet on low fan and cools great!. I tried the heatpump and it worked great also even if it was in the seventies.
There were no surprises with the replacement and everything went smooth The whole job took maybe 4.5 hours start to finnish I was not in a rush. I am looking forward to having a nice cool coach this summer. ^.^d

What was going on with the old one? I had an Allegra Bus that had the original AC on it and 1 started to blow cool and not cold. I had the A/C man come by and add a schrader valve and refilled with R_12 (I believe).. Worked great after that.

Also it doesnt look low profile.. How much taller is it than the old one? Thanks

The original one didn't cool very good. The fan blade would lightly touch the metal inside after it ran for awhile. The blade would not move on the shsft. Rocket Man here figured he could take a screw driver and with blade running drag it on the plastic edge ,Well that didn't work too good and a few blades flew apart,so then the whole unit shook like a paint shaker at Home Depot.
Problem Solved Now!!  ^.^d

I have had mine for about 1 year.
You will find a vast improvement. I was very happy with the output of the heat unit.
