Power Cord & Water Hose Reel

What is the trick to getting the reels to lock in any position?

Pull until you hear a click and then slowly release.  In rare cases you may need to spray some silicone on the ratchet mechanism.

John, my "manual" hose reel has a lever attached to a spring. I pull the hose out until I hear the reel clicking then stop and slowly release the tension until it locks in place.  The spring pulls the lever up against a cog when you hear the reel clicking. Your spring may need replacing. About your "any position" statement. The cog is not a complete circle so you are limited to positions when ever the lever and cog line up (clicking sound). I hope I was clear describing how it works.

Thank you for the help.  We will listen for the click and back off slowly.
