Wireless backup camera recomendations

We want to replace the backup camera with a wireless color one on our 1996 U280.
Has anyone updated to a wireless one?
There are many choices online.

I tried wireless and went wired. My picture quality was not up to my expectations.

It may take a little more to change over to the wired ones but I suggest you go that way. You will be happier in the long run. There are a lot of posts doing this.

If your existing wire from the back to front is good you can use it with adaptor from RV cams.

We have a Tadibrothers, with 7 inch monitor with wireless mounted white back up camera. I had to modify my oem camera box so I could use the same as came with the coach. If you do a search Chuck did great write up.

My writeup is somewhat dated (3 years old), but the basic reasoning remains valid. My wireless setup has functioned just fine since I installed it. No problems (except for poor color rendition). I still think wireless is one way to do it...but certainly not the only way.

As is often repeated around here: Do what makes you happy!

Recycle current wire using adapters from RV Cams will give be you max fidelity. Current cams come color and IR for great vision day or night. Amazing field of view to boot

Never had luck with wireless, too many electronic's in a coach. I just put one in my wife's 2015 Dart. Works great, when it works, cuts out from interference. Last try for me.
As other said, you can use your old wire. I have done at least 10 FT's that way. $30.00 camera on Ebay, $30.00 7" monitor. Works awesome.
I just cut the ends off, solider RCA's on, then heat shrink them.

The little 7 in screen Chinese works great .
Worked fine and you can tell what make of car is following.
The mounting bracket is made to mount vertical and the GV plate area is horizontal . The mounting needs some mod for a good angle . Totally worth the 60$ and as good as any OEM camera.

Yup, going to run a coax from our in-motion sat to the extra monitor input, so I don't have to look up...LOL
I actually did it on the last coach. But before everyone starts yelling at me, I don't watch TV going down the road. We listen to music. But when a song comes on that I want to know the name of, I can take a glance easier on the monitor.

I replaced the black/white OEM camera without sound or night vision with a colour camera with sound and night vision.
I pulled a coax for sound, a coax for picture, and a couple other wires from the over bed cabinet to the front over driver cabinet via the corner aluminum extruding between the wall and the roof. Not difficult to do. I repositioned the OEM camera to point straight down for backing up.

Where did you mount the main control, and how do you get to adjustment knob?

Chris it's sitting loose on the top of the dash behind and to the right of the instrument round dash top.

Best would be my ram line iPad Air mount with my lifeproof case around the iPad and relay the signal from the hp to the iPad so the lid can be down on the hp. The hp is capable of not turning off when the lid is down in its controls.

Then clamp the ram mount to the wooden window valance at the front of the drivers wimdow.

Just above where your unit is I thought would be fine.

Off the direct sight line but peripheral should be ok.

As I run all stays normally while moving on the iPad I,have not done this yet.

A split screen iPad Pro 12.5" on a ram line bracket might allow a truncated VPMS and the all stay or an optional route guidance on the split screen.

Latest apple iOS11 maps/route guidance now shows the speed limit which I use a separate garmin on a bag mount for now in the future.

The garmin keeps the total trip miles

Not yet. Picked up a set of top pieces. Want to ceramic clear coat the pieces prior to assembly.

Probably the same stuff on the dura bright Alcoas
