Moby is disappointed!

Well folks, Moby is still coach-less.
Went to the dealer today to pick her up and check all the systems.  Thank goodness for the sticky post with the check list in it.  Was told how to do stuff and then did it myself.
Things were going well, untill......
1)  No one could get the systems monitor to work.  Dead screen.  We researched and found replacement systems on line and figure we'd negotiate the price down.
2)  The leveling system is mucked up.  One corner would not jack and sometimes not retract.
Kinda ticked off as dealer told me everything worked.  So now we drive home and wait for repairs to get done.  They are gonna deliver to me so I don't have to make the return trip.

RATS!

Moby,
Sorry about your delays and problems. Hopefully they will deliver it with everything up to snuff.

I did read the quote under your name about the stainless tank. Only your spare change goes in there.

The real money is spent elsewhere!  >:D

Hope to see ya down the road.

With a U225, be sure to check RIDE HEIGHT.  It is adjustable, but not easily and can get really low if never adjusted.

Be careful with trusting a dealer to fix what they say they will, it has to all work right before you take that coach off the lot, (don't ask how I know)....several items on my coach were "rigged" to seem as if they were fixed but had to be "really" fixed (not big stuff but a lot of little stuff) once we got her to my FT tech.  As the old saying goes, "let the
buyer beware."

It will be fixed when I decide it's fixed.  If I break it because I'm stupid, then is on me.

You guys just never had a knowledgeable sales pro handle your biz.

When I handed the owners there keys everything was perfect. Why?  Almost everyone was going to or already was a repeater.

Plus I ran a factory store.  Stupid to not fix things.

Plus I had a blanket 100% warranty.

Bring back a list is what I told them. Not Nac.  Me.

But I was in it for the long run.

Plus they all had my bag phone cell number which was and is still on 24/7/365

There are exceptions, as Bob says.  Bought a fifth wheel from Bishop RV in Corpus.  Checked it out, made the deal and started making arrangements for delivery.  I was expecting it in one day, they said it may be up to three days.  They took the unit in their shop, inspected it out top to bottom, fixed numerous items I had overlooked.  Totally on their dime, and without me asking, or knowing it was coming.  Needless to say, if I was going to buy another.....

I avoid being adversarial with sales people.  They tend to be a pretty perceptive bunch.

Not too sure I trust delivery. You have a lot more leverage when you leave it behind compared to when they leave it at your house and run.

True.
But there's no rule that says they have to get a check, right?

Fact is no dealer is going to know everything that is wrong with a used coach, impossible.  Think about it.  How could they? Some pre existing problems don't become apparent until well down the road.

As a route salesman for several years I learned painfully ( read, lost customers) that when you return in 2 weeks to sell the customer another product,    You better have sold them something that they liked    And if they weren't happy with it.  Back up your products with unconditional no questions asks return / replace / refund  OR ELSE.

LOTS of salesman can sell someone something once. But it takes real sales talent to ask enough questions, and find out what what they REALY want / like.  Cause your returning in 2 weeks to do it all over again.  I learned it the hard way. ( lost customers )
