2007 Phenix Dash Ac compressor

Hello to all.  I'm desperately looking for help to try and figure out why my dash ac compressor clutch continuously stays engaged with the motor is running.  It will not turn off with the switch on the dash.  I've tried everything i know possible and was hoping somebody out there may have had this same problem.  I need to figure this out or i will fry that compressor.  All replies will be greatly appreciated.

thx

Jody,

May be a stuck relay, may be the dash HVAC control is falsely sending a signal.  I suspect a stuck relay is the place I would start.

Look at your wiring diagram for the relay just "up-stream" of the compressor clutch.  That is where I would start.

The clutch bearing can freeze up. Have you disconnected the plug at the compressor?

And, when you unplug the wire to the compressor clutch (i.e. let's make sure the clutch is not seized).  Also, verify that the wire is hot (12 VDC between it and ground).

On edit, looks like great, or is it small minds think alike.

It doesn't have power if it is un plugged at the compressor. Look at the posts above the clutch bearing is seized.

You are going to have either option 1 or option 2

Option 1
If you have the plug disconnected from the compressor and it is still running then the problem IS the compressor.

Option 2
If you have the plug disconnected from the compressor and the compressor has stopped turning and the loose power connector has 12 volts to it, then your problem is in the wiring somewhere that is causing the compressor to keep running.  The compressor IS NOT the problem
