Splendide Stackable W/D- other options?

My 15 year old Splendide 2000 just crapped out.  Leaks water during drain.
We are on the road now, but when we get home we will look to replace with a stackable package, so I have started my research.
Are there other brands that have been used as an alternative to the Splendide?
Are residential units robust enough for a MH?
FYI: I took up the sub floor in the closet and started a fan. Will probably let it run a couple days. The new unit will definitely be installed with some kind of plumbed drain pan. Saw where some of you have done that.

Thanks

Try the 2100XC Splendide - greater capacity than the 2000 series.

Or the Ariston stackables.  Also made by Splendide, but they will allow you to run a load in each at the same time.

Some SOBs (Newmar, Entegra) use a cheap Whirlpool stackable set.  I've not read good things about these, particularly the washer, and I'm not sure if the dryer needs to be wired to 220V.  The dryer is smaller capacity than the Splendide 2100XC or Ariston and only has one temperature.

There was a Bosch stackable set, but the dryer might be 220V as well.  Someone on the forum has them.

We have the Bosch 800 series washer and dryer.  We had a shelf built for the dryer so I could pull either one out by myself.  If they were stacked I do not have the strength to move them both up and out of the drip tray.  The washer is so quiet you cannot hear it running and the spin cycle is very smooth so you cannot "feel" the washer working either.  It does a fabulous job getting the clothes clean.  The dryer is ventless so we had to learn how to use it to get good results.  The dryer is not as quiet as the washer but is still very quiet.  The washer plugs into the dryer and the dryer is 240v so you only need one 240V; NEMA 14-30 30A receptacle.  They are both energy star.  The washer is also very efficient at using water!  I can do 3 loads compared to my old washers one load with the same laundry capacity.

Hope this helps,

No Bosch vented US compact dryer models anymore.  I would have preferred a vented model but once I learned how to adjust the controls on the non-vented all is well.

If non-vented, does that mean it's a condensation dryer, and if so, do you know how much water it uses in the dry cycle?

It does not use water to dry but pulls water out through condensation.  I have not ever measured how much it condensates out for it drains automatically down the same drain the washer uses.  I am sure the amount varies upon what wash cycle you use.  The faster the washer cycle spin the less water to condensate out in the dryer.  When I have the washer cycle on "white whites" the sheets feel nearly dry when the cycle completes for that uses the fastest spin cycle.  It does not take long to dry them in the dryer.

We have a Bosch  stacked set that is vented and 220v.
We are VERY happy with its performance and quite operation.
The spin speed of the washer is adjustable and at its highest setting practically spins the cloths dry.

I bought a new Splendide Monday after being assured that the size was the same as our 17 year old 2100.  I would love to have the new features and larger drum of the new model but had to return it today after find that while the cabinet size was the same as before the vent has been moved more than 4 inches. On my 2000 U320 the Splendide vents directly out the side with only about an inch of room between the back of the unit and the wall, so no possibility of using a vent kit.  Does anyone know of a solution as my dryer keeps quitting and I have had to replace the thermostats twice. It is a royal pain to take the Splendide out of the cabinet to replace the thermostates and then put it back in.

Today I took the unit to the distributor in Gresham, OR as we are in Portland this week. They are great to deal with and said they would have it back to me by Friday working as new. I hope that is true but still wish I had the new features. The Splendid distributor is GREAT to work with. The are really taking big steps to allow us to leave Portland on our scheduled day.

As the OP, thanks for the input. We had decided to update to the 2100 single unit, but after the last post from Ken, a different location for the vent is problematic.

A flex hose connection allowed an easy vent relocation when installing our 2100xc in our 97

Trick was to remove the exterior vent  cover then run the hose through the wall while installing the splendide then put the hose onto the vent cover and reinstall the exterior vent cover.

Thanks to everyone for your suggestions. It looked to me like i had a max of 1 & 1/2 inches of room behind the Splendid so I gave up on using vent kits or hoses. I have used these in homes.  Old washer/dryer is back in place after West Sales increased the air flow over the thermisters after they replaced them. They said this would solve the problem. I have my fingers crossed and I assume that sooner or later I will have to replace the Splendid with a new model.
