cabinet struts - store doors up (or closed)

We are now storing our motorhome for months at a time in Phoenix.

Interior gets quite warm, and it makes sense to open all cabinet doors to let air circulate.

Looking for opinions on the question:

Are the air struts better off extended in 'relaxed' open mode
rather than being closed with struts in compressed mode?

Yes, extended it would seem better, but I have read somewhere in a manufactures catalog that rod down is suppose to keep the seal coated with oil and minimize loss of gas.

Switched al of mine so they are all rod down, open or closed. Closed they are more vertical though. Don't know how much oil is in them to keep the seal covered when not vertical.
