ES52 question

Where and what is the device that tells the auto start ES52 that the voltage is low and to start the generator? I have read and reread the manual and find nothing about what voltage it will turn on.

I guess you are asking "where is it". On my 2000 and others it is below the centre lift up dash cover and right in front is a black painted slide made of plywood that just lifts out. It is fastened to this "tray" The info/manual is on Beamalarm under Dynagen auto start.
Hope this is what you are asking for.

I found the actual ES52, in the instructions it says it is activated by a 12 volt signal. I am trying to find out what measures the voltage to send the signal. If it is a stand alone nothing in the manual says at X volts it will start the generator. There are dip switches to tell it how many tries to start the generator, the cycles high or low and all kinds of other controls, but when will it start?

Try the FF Wiki and look at the instructions for the BCM-12.  It appears it should be wired to the batteries (house) and the "trigger" is set using a DVM and the unit's potentiometer.

I found this reference when I searched the Forum. I don't have any information about it in my folders and cannot find it on the coach.

Do any of these photos apply (there are several posts showing different possible locations)?

I am headed to the coach I may have mistook the BCM for the ES52

The BCM is what I mistook for the ES52, they both had the same amount of dip switches and I didn't pay enough attention to the rest of the board. I set the dip switches as though it was the ES52 and I wanted 4 tries to start the generator. I will now use those switches to set the delay.
Another plus to the Forum I don't think I would have found this info on the net.

After all this time, and after having taken the center of my dash apart to change the heater core, I still haven't found the BCM-12... The auto start does work and I have replaced the ES-52, but I still haven't found the device that tells the ES-52 to start the generator. I have a Magnum Auto Generator Start Module ready to install (because it will let me set all the parameters for controlling the start parameters of the Gen). I guess I will just have to trace the wires from the auto start switch to find it. So odd that coaches of the same year and model as ours, built before and after apparently, were different in this respect.

On my 320 I found the BCM12 under the flip top dash by the Javalina system.  Their is a board you slide up and it's located in there.  I need to locate the ES52 on my coach.

Today I went on the hunt for my ES52.  I went to the generator like Craneman suggested and found an empty spot where it should be.  It was located in the first compartment on the drivers side in a totally different box.  I open the box cover and it was too tight to do anything.  I am trying to determine why the auto start does not work.  Is there a third module I need to locate or does the BCM12 manage the auto start?

The BCM sends the 12 volts to the ES52 to start the generator. I don't know why yours was moved.

Several years ago (10 or so) there was some owners that was having trouble with the ES52 failing along with the VR63 voltage regulator drifting.  The reasoning was there was too much viberation where it was mounted on the top of the generator thus the failures. This resulted in some people having there units relocated to where John's is located. I wouldn't be surprised to find the voltage regulator hid in there also.  If it is in there it is a PITA to try to adjust it in this location. The big trouble with this location is as John stated you can't get to anything in the control box where it is mounted.
