Best bet is to order a new gasket from FT and install it with the WS's.  At 20 years old the gasket is probably weathered.
When I had WS's in a 95 the gasket was only 150 bucks, that was five years ago or so so its probably higher.

Gasket replacement is maintenance.  Insurance is not for maintenance.

I take it that the gasket is in conjunction with a windshield replacement - probably as a result of a claim

Having problems, just had windshields replaced three weeks ago at factory.  They checked for delamination but both have shifted to passenger side. Have gaps around windows and air leaks. Have owned a month. 1990 U280 pusher

Sure sounds like delamination between the dash and front fiberglass.  Open the front outside access doors and look UP to see that area.

Have you had it out of level? Have you had the coach in a twist type scenario, like going into a road at a angle making a turn. These types if conditions can shift the windshields. Also parking on very on level ground can shift them also.
Have you heard any popping, squeeking, when moving slow on uneven ground.thats
a sign you are getting into a bind.

It is a very common problem with Grand Villas. Foretravel usually inspects the coach for that before replacing the windshields. When I had one of ours done there (twice) I just got the gasket from them, however, I've read that one should use the old gasket if it's still good. Can't remember what the reasoning is. Another thing Foretravel will do is check torque on all of the body bolts that run along both sides of the rig. The best thing to do is what Stump suggests: Avoid twisting the body when leveling and when driving. One time I did a U-turn on a two lane road in which I had to drive into the bar ditch. As I was pulling  back onto the highway, there was about 2" of daylight between the windshield and the body. Tried to keep it level after that experience. Anyhow, if you read up on this issue here you'll find lots of discussion. If you continue to have this problem, you'll still like that rig. Grand Villas are great! Good luck.

Gerry,
We purchased one from FT 2 years ago. The price wasn't bad at all. Get a new locking strip also.
