Just as I Feared.....

Sooo.........

I went to move the coach today. It was the first time since we finished the new floor installation. I was always concerned about how the change in height of the new floor, ( 1/4" underlayment and 1/8" vinyl ) would work with the slide mechanism. We installed 1/4" thick continuous felt padding on the original slide plastic glide material. When I pulled the slide in, I didn't hear the " latch" mechanism engage. I had been down this road before, and it required lifting the inside edge of the slide and readjusting the bolts holding the angle iron. I had to go below and " override" the "Leveling System" in order to get the coach into gear. I also had to listen to constant alarm going off during my travels. Does ANYONE have the "fix" to my dilemma? Is there an adjustment to the safety latch system, or do I have to adjust the slide again? I appears, from the outside, that the slide may be IN a bit more than " flush" with the side of the coach.

If I can't adjust it, I will probably head to Knoxville, Tenn. for help. How can I disconnect the constant dinging of the alarm?? My wife won't like the trip down south with the bell going off.

The compressor in the storage bay was running HARD after I parked the coach. Had to disconnect the hot wire. Why was this unit running so hot??

There is a blower on a thermostat in the storage bay. It was going "big time"  until I raised the setting. It goes from 80 to 130 and is now at 130, at which the blower turned off. What is this for?? What should my setting be.??

Getting ready for our BIG winter trip, so I'd like to get this fixed ASAP. Thanks for any help.

Is your bladder staying inflated...after shutting off pump?

By "latch", you're referring to the slide locking pins, correct?

The aux compressor continuing to run might indicate several things - pressure switch gone bad, air leak (in the slide bladder system - the leveling would most likely shut it off if it encountered an "excess slope" unable to level situation.

The air bladder did deflate and fill up after I overrode the system to get the coach moving.

I was on a grade that the leveling system indicates is excessive. I have disconnected the compressor until I can move the  coach to more level ground.

I believe that the problem is linked to the floor remodel, as it was working well prior to the project. I need to get the latch to engage. If not, then I need to disable the alarm and head to a repair shop.

I will read the manuals for any ideas.

Has anyone adjusted the slide, OR , disabled the alarm?

No help on the slide problem, sorry.

On squelching the alarm, first you have to find it, then figure out how to turn it off.  On our (older) coach, both are easy.  The mechanical noise maker (technically called the annunciator) is under the lift-up dash cover, right in front of the driver.  It has a little adjustment screw that can be turned to a place that completely mutes the noise.  Your coach being much newer, I'm sure it's not so simple.  Try to physically locate the device, then see if there is something that can be (temporarily) adjusted, unplugged, disconnected or removed.  Last choice would be to cut a wire, but be sure it doesn't control other vital functions before you take that step.

Use blocks/pads under the tires to get the coach level. Then run the slide out and back in.

On our coach, if the coach isn't level, the slide will come in too far at the top. Then the pins wont lock. Excess slope is a no no for the slide.

Thanks for the advise. I will do that. We I first encountered the problem with the latch, I was in a level concrete garage.
